Let's hear the set ups and food menu's for everyone's tailgating this weekend! I personally will be hosting 8 people in the State Fair lot with the worlds best bratwursts from L&M meats in Grand Forks, ND. As well as a whole lot of beer! Is anyone in the State Fair lot going to have a satellite TV set up? Wouldn't mind catching an early game if possible

Well I will be at the State Fair with my girlfriend, we were supposed to have to others but they bailed on us to go to a bar right before the game. We will be walking around trying to get to know some other Gopher fans, so we might see you out there. Our menu as of now is Chicago dogs, popcorn from Peterson Popcorn, and of course plenty of beer. We are open to share the popcorn and stuff with whomever so if you want to grab some stop by and say hi!

sounds good!

I will be at the State Fair lot with a few buddies. Look for a younger looking guy in the old goldy hockey logo hat playing bags on a blue bean bag set (would rather maroon but can't complain about a free set from my parents). We will be there at 9am so come join us for a beer and some brats.

Advice, please!

My family (Mom, Dad and Sister) and I are going to the game on Saturday and we are looking for a good spot to either tailgate at or maybe a good bar/restaurant within walking distance of the stadium? We've never tailgated before so I do not know what kind of pass we need or even good lots to go to, so any advice on that would be greatly appreciated!

We'd love to meet other gopher fans while tailgating but if that doesn't work out what are some good spots to toss a few back and catch the early games at around the stadium? Thanks!

If you want to tailgate within walking distance of the stadium then you have 2 choices: Buy a pass to a stadium area lot off Stub Hub or another reseller or park in the East River Flats lot (http://www.minneapolisparks.org/documents/permits/parking/East_River_Flats_Event_Pkg.pdf and http://www.minneapolisparks.org/default.asp?PageID=4&parkid=435)

For bars, some of the common hot spots are Stub and Herbs, Sally's, and Big Ten. Sally's and Stubs have beer gardens.

GoAupher, do you know if RV's can park at the Flats? The flyer says all vehicles are $10, but we didn't want to arrive only to find out that it wouldn't be allowed in. It looks like we will just be traveling by car this weekend, so maybe we can just ask then too.

Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

We'll be in our regular spot in Lot 94. Nothing exciting food wise, just some brats and beers.

We will be in Lot 51 again. Just doing dogs, brats and cheesy brats and beer. Hopefully my adjustments to my TV and slingbox will mean my TV works this week. I gotta say Lot 51 was much more active for the first tailgate this year then it ever was last year. A lot more people are using it as a tailgate lot and not just a parking spot.

I doubt it, it's just a standard park board lot with car sized spaces, it would be tough to get an RV in and out anyway.

I am also unsure but would agree with Ski U Master that you likely would not get in with an RV. My understanding was that day of game parking for RV's was only in the U lots on the STP campus.

Building my flagpole for the tailgate tomorrow, I'm stoked!

Lot 37, going back to basics after resetting expectation for this team: brats and beer.

Go Gophers!

We'll be in the Ski U Mah Lot at 8:30am. We divide up food days, and no one took today, so we're doing a sort of pot luck. I know we'll have brats, dips, bloodies, apps, and I'm going to grill up some fish tacos. Last week I guessed we were going to have 30 or so - but was closer to 50 by kickoff, I think. The more the merrier in my book!

Just four of us this week in Lot 86.

Cheddarwurst, kraut, and sports peppers this time around along with Sam Adams Octoberfest and Winterfest and maybe some Yuengling for me and raspberry vodka/diet coke for mama.

Also have some cupcakes my pastry chef of a daughter made last night, along with jalapeno artichoke dip.

Plan on listening to the early games on XM while shooting some cornhole with the neighbors.
