Super Bowl Taylor Swift-Travis Kelce Coverage Meltdown

I just checked ✔️ and they are paid a nominal amount, but my point is still valid - they generally aren’t at their apex.
I’m a retired hip hop head and Usher isn’t selling out sports arenas last time I checked and she does sell out everywhere at this point, so she doesn’t need it for her career - both can be correct.
Swift absolutely needs nothing from the NFL. The NFL gains WAY more having her around.

She sells out 150k tickets per city at an average of 400 a pop. She’s richer than any NFL player and more famous.

The NBA and NFL have morphed into the Real Househusbands over the last decade.

Thst was my point when responding to the OP - so we agree.

NBA has always had an aspect of that.

They were trailblazing that path if only by accident / more weird events with players than most.

I despised the Chiefs long before Taylor came into the picture. I'm just trying not to get caught in the crossfire from the Swifties.

From what I gather she was on screen a shorter amount of time than one of those picture in picture half commercial breaks they do...life must be rough when the Viagra runs out.

Yeah, there are people melting down over her being shown for less than 30 seconds total. Just weird what some people choose to be bothered by.

Hey maybe I'll listen to this video. It has 3.3 billions views.

Swift seems caught in political crosshairs. The MAGA's don't like her. For the longest time her political views were unknown. Her family from Tennessee is Republican. My guess is she grew up with a slightly conservative upbringing. She then kept her views to herself, one reason for her tremendous success. During elections, photos would show her in line to vote but not a clue whom she was voting for. She was country music crossing over into pop. But then after the George Floyd murder and riots she came out hard against the history of racism in the south. I wouldn't describe her as a liberal. "Liberated" would be a good descriptor. I would say some of MAGA's (but not all) don't like her for logical reasons. They probably should stay clear of Swift and use "ignore" rather than "attention" with her.

She was actually born in Reading, Pennsylvania, and moved to Nashville when she was 14 to embark on her music career. Her father was a managing director for Merrill Lynch and her mother was a marketing manager at an ad agency. I don't know where that would put them on the political spectrum.

As for camera shots of her at Chiefs' games, I much prefer them to the incessant camera shots of Brock Purdy's parents during 49ers' games.

People have been bothered by it for year. Patrick Mahomes wife was hated last year. Cowboys fans booed Jessica Simpson. This isn't anything new.

Maybe there are people melting down, I don't really follow it. The most I've seen is people say that it's kind of annoying or they think the relationship is fake. I've seen more people describe that very limited negative reaction to it as "melting down" than I've seen people melt down.

Do you live in a cave or are you just trolling?
No, we've all seen the countless articles about people "melting down", we just haven't seen real people actually melt down.

Maybe there are a couple of people somewhere, I'm sure there are. I just know that in my day-to-day life, I've seen more people outraged by this "melting down" than I've seen actual melting down.

But yeah, I don't really care to see Taylor Swift when I'm watching football. I didn't love seeing Patrick Mahomes' dumb wife last year. I guess it was okay to "melt down" about having to see his stupid brother last year. I didn't care about Madden's bus when they'd show that constantly.

There is a whole network that had flown off the deep end about it (actually 2 plus so many people with terrible podcasts) I am sure it has been mentioned in the off topic board. If I still went to X I bet I could find plenty of people with profile pictures in shades in their car/truck with a backwards hat that felt the need to comment as well. (if you know you know) That is why people were going overboard about it...certain commentators made it a political deal out of nowhere. I mean...there are some pretty funky rumors being spread out there right now by these types of commentators it isn't hard to find.

But you are right of course...for the most part it is nothing new. She isn't the first GF/BF/Wife/Husband/Parents...etc. that have been used to kill time during a broadcast as an interesting storyline she is just a bigger star than the rest were and the Chiefs are the best team. I admittedly didn't watch, but I doubt I would have even noticed and I would assume the vast majority of people who did watch barely cared.

There's no doubt that the owners want control of the outcomes. Common sense...when billions of dollars are at stake.

They say they LOVE the players & don't want them injured. But they really want to be able to call personal fouls...the most game-changing penalty. Along with having pass-interference un-reviewable...to speed up gameplay?? Yeah right.

At least Swift gave up her smallest private jet to help the planet. She preaches that we all need to cut back. She gives money for carbon credits...so we can cut back...and so she doesn't need to.

So were the 49ers owners in on it with the other owners and chose to … lose today?

My God. TV or internet has truly ruined your life.

The sad thing is, I bet you were tolerable or even a fun person to be around 10 years ago.

Now, you're a UI and a shell of a human. Pathetically tragic.

Have you ever wondered why they include both end pieces when you buy a loaf of bread?
