STrib: Who might emerge as the Gophers' top receivers?

We'll agree to disagree I guess. Maye and Wolitarsky both drew professional paychecks, and Wolitarsky is still playing in the CFL. Gray is another one I didn't even mention before - he was also better as a Gopher than Douglas. I'd be absolutely floored if Douglas is even invited to an NFL camp, and in fact I wouldn't at all be surprised if he sees the field this year as little as he did last year.
Also Isaac Fruchte actually played a game in the NFL for the Vikings. Not a preseason game, a real game.

Personally I am a little disappointed in the Doulgas news. I wasn't very high on him at the beginning of last offseason but I did some digging on the 2015 and 16 WMU teams and watched several replays of their games.

In 2015, Daniel Braverman had 1,300+ yards and 13 TD's, exactly like what Tyler Johnson did. He was a 7th round pick while Tyler was a 5th rounder. They still had Corey Davis who was considered more talented and ended up going #5 overall like how Bateman is a projected top 10 pick.

In 2015 Michael Henry only had 247 yards and 1 TD while Carringotn Thompson had 89 yards and 2 TD's. Then in 2016 Davis went for 1,500 yards and Henry and Thompson were both able to replace Bravermen as a collective unit. Henry had 779 yards and 2 TD's while Thompson had 637 yards and 6 TD's.

I am hoping/expecting Autman Bell will be able to do what Michael Henry did in 2017 and be a 700-750 yards guy while I was hopeful Douglas could do what Carringotn Thompson did and be a 600 yard guy. CAB and DD both have better numbers than what Thompson and Henry had prior to Bravermen graduating and I would imagine both are more talented. Hopefully Jackson or Emilen will be able to have a Caringotn Thompson type year as the #3.

This thread didn’t age well.

Every year we have the same sort of thread. Every year someone steps up “out of nowhere” and shocks “us”.

There will be a couple of guys together that will get a total of 30-40 catches this year and the world will be shocked, I guess.

Next man up. That’s why they were brought here.

It's crazy how one of the best WRs in Gopher history decided to quit football with 2 years of college eligibility left on the table.
It’s crazy how literally nobody said he was one of the best WRs in gopher history but you read it anyways

NFL/pro career has no bearing on the quality of player they were in college.

I guess Matt cassel was a better college quarterback than Tim Tebow
