Strib lately

With the exception of the always Negative Mr. Reusse (my favorite columnist at the Strib who I never read, and I read pretty much everyone else), the Strib has had some good, positive stories on the Gopher football team lately.

It seems that we love to bash them for not supporting the program, so turnabout is fair; nice job Strib.

The best way too....

The best way to shut up the media is to win. I think at times we cry too much on how the media picks on the Gophers. Tears would flow from the Masonites on how the media would pick on Mase and the Gophers. The best way to shut them up is to win. I think this year will not be a pretty one for our football team. I think the National media maybe right about this season. The media was right about the first year with Brewster when everyone here was up in arms about the national media predicting us to finish last in the Big Ten.

I hope to God that the Gophers prove the National media and my dire prediction for this year to be wrong. Right now, I just can't imagine us doing very well this year. I would be very elated if they proved me wrong.

Agreed on both counts. Nice to see the Strib with some honest coverage and the easiest way to shut up the critics is to win. This year the Gophers will have one less excuse because the Strib has been on top of it's game and the PiPo has been solid as usual.

Have definitely enjoyed the Strib's coverage this year (thanks Phil Miller et al) more than any other in recent memory. Aside from Reusse's faux attempts to 'keep it real', its been solid and interesting.
