I think that shows:

1. How non-competitive we have been and how the rivalry has become ho-hum for WI.
2. How disappointed Bucky fans are in their team.
3. the national trend in declining attendance hit WI too.

In Tracy Claeys’ only — and last — full season as Gophers head football coach, announced home attendance averaged 44,358. This season, under Claeys’ successor, P.J. Fleck, announced average attendance finished at 37,612.

The Gophers finished 9-4 in Claeys’ lone season in 2016.

That will depend on how competently the AD and the marketing staff take advantage. Tickets should go up some on their own due to a more attractive home schedule.
