It is a win-win situation for the Gophers if Winfield stays another year or goes Pro. If he stays, he helps the team.If he turns Pro, that is a good publicity for the Gophers.
I don't think Kamal is being selfish. He has played hurt for the team for a good part of the season. He was a big part of the Defense. Good for him to sit out and heal. Now, he has to think about his shot at the NFL.
It was mentioned that he had extensive discussion and advice from the coaching staff. So, it wasn't an easy decision for him.
Good luck to him. I hope he makes it on an NFL team.
