per Joe:

Gophers wide receiver Rashad Still hasn’t been lost for the season because of his shoulder injury, coach Tracy Claeys insisted Tuesday.

“It’s amazing, things get tweeted out — everybody puts stuff out there,” Claeys said. “It’s not two or three months [until Still returns], OK? He’s probably going to be out four weeks, would be my guess, depending on how he heals. … And no, we’re not considering redshirting him. That’s not an option.”

Still, a 6-5, 205-pound sophomore, made 18 receptions last year, including touchdown grabs against Michigan, Ohio State and Illinois.

After starting last week’s opener against Oregon State, he made one reception for 6 yards. The injury occurred on a deep pass from Mitch Leidner. Still had a defender draped around him and crashed onto his shoulder.

Go Gophers!!

Boys......let's be perfectly clear here. Anytime you go under the knife, especially in a high impact area like the shoulder, 4 weeks is a pipe dream. My doctor friend says minimum 6-8 weeks unless Stills is a extremely fast healer. Maybe he can be back fore the Iowa game, and that's a big maybe?

If it is his clavicle and it needs surgery it will be longer than four weeks.
Many clavicle breaks can be treated with a sling so Still's fracture must have been displaced.
Lack of quality depth continues to haunt.

Did Claeys say he needs surgery or is that part of the terrible reporting?

Does anyone know the injury? I haven't heard a thing on whether he just cracked it, or a clean break or what he did. For a doctor to say he is out 6-8 weeks without actually looking at the patient is pretty misinformed. That doctor is probably not focused on that area, but wants to sound smart to his friends, so throws out the general time frame for an injury he once heard of. I will take the word of someone who has actually gotten the diagnosis from the actual doctor who is caring for the patient.

He's an ER doctor specializing in surgery. He has seen every type of trauma possible. He was dead nuts on Shannon Brooks.

I don't think ER doctors should be putting dead nuts on anyone, especially our star running backs.

Injuries

The Carter Coughlin knee injury that wasn't "anything serious" is at about day 26.

Is he out? I thought he started practicing again? Could be that because of the injury he is a bit behind.

So is he an ER doc or a surgeon? I don't know any true ER physicians that do surgery, just curious.

Are there ER doctors that are just "ER doctor" with no additional training in anything else but "ER"?

All the times I've been to the ER they were staffed with doctors who each had specialties like any other doctor might have, internal medicine, orthopedics, pediatrics, etc...

ER docs don't do the surgeries. They refer them to the necessary surgeon, i.e. Trauma, orthopedics, CV, etc.. That is why I confused by what he said and just wanted to clarify.

Where is Dr. Don when we need him?

And this ER doc hasn't evaluated Still, so he doesn't know anything more than his opinion based on a vague description of the injury. Again, I will believe what the head coach states, since he has actually spoken with Still's actual physician.

And Brooks has been out 1 month now. You claimed 2-3 months and likely redshirt for him. I don't know how that would be getting Brooks' evaluation right.

Never, ever do anything that brings a shred of reality to the wishful thinkers on this site.

Depends on the topic.

Schedule? 16 wins for sure!

Recruiting? Well he is coming here so he must suck!

Plus he's a friend of ruppert, so we can be fairly certain that there's a screw or two loose :)

Apparently, all a doctor needs is a vague description of an injury to know the exact prognosis. Impressive.

I much prefer these threads that entertain me rather than inform me.

Does anyone actually believe what Doogie reports anyway? He does have a track record of sorts and I for one take what he says with a very large grain of salt.

You call 64.8 mg very large? I bet you think you have gigantic hands too.

Substitute "Rashad Still" in place of "Bueller"
