Was in the bookstore picking up some summer workbooks for my kids and saw Street and Smiths NCAA preview magazine. Thought the boy might like it, so I picked it up and thumbed through it while standing in line.

They had Nebraska 2nd in the west. We were 4th. I had to put it back on the shelf. Maybe I’m missing something, but I mean....

Old habits never die.... It would require some effort to do it right.

The guy who wrote it was probably playing Animal Crossing instead of working at home and just copy pasted what he wrote the last 8 years

NE has a huge fanbase. It pays better to hype them up.

Yep. Angering Gopher fans doesn't cause as big a hit in magazine sales as angering Nebraska fans. It's about selling magazines more than printing truth, IMO.

One interesting thing about those mags - they print multiple editions depending on what region of the country they'll be shipped to, so that they can feature different teams and athletes on the cover.

so mags intended for sale in the south would feature SEC teams; mags intended for sale in the midwest would feature B1G teams and so forth.

I use to buy the Athlon edition every year, but haven't now for a few years.

Been saying it for years now. Nebraska is stale bread now. Great place to watch a game and the fans are awesome. Their program is Pop Warner compared to their glory years which was built on cheating for the most part.

Is the content any different, or just the covers?

If most of the fanbase is illiterate, what's the point?
agreed...they are all living in the 1990's...the starter jackets and all...and the chanting "go black shirts". All when neither team is wearing a black jersey. WTF...so odd. It's shows how they are unable to accept that being in the Big Ten has sent their program into a downward spiral. Maybe your tobacco-chewing 'throw-the-blame on the players' coach can help...but so far he's shown no signs of that. Joke...BIG JOKE. Go back to the big 12.

PS. PJ could have run the score up last year...but he has too much class.

Those writers need to go to rehab and counseling because they are certainly on something and have no sense of the realities of today!
