Facebook post aside, Stoudermire still with U

Receiver Troy Stoudermire remains a member of the Gophers football team, a university spokesman said Thursday, though a post on his Facebook earlier in the day seemed to cloud his status.


Stoudermire, whose 49-yard touchdown reception against South Dakota remains the Gophers' longest play from scrimmage this season, was suspended indefinitely Wednesday by coach Tim Brewster for "conduct detrimental to the team." Hours later, his Facebook status read, "Troy Stoudermire is no longer a Gopher [and is] ready to take my talent to a top D-1 school where I will be appreciated and respected as a player."


But the post was removed after only a few hours, and spokesman Andy Seeley said the junior receiver has not informed the coaching staff that he is leaving.


Stoudermire, a junior from Dallas who also serves as the team's kickoff returner, could not be reached for comment.

Perhaps the rational side of his brain has kicked in.

Not saying he's staying, but it's a terrible move on his part and should at least be given some thought.

He's starting at a big ten school, going to set records and potentially establish himself as the top kickoff returner in the Big Ten if he stays. Not a sure road to the NFL, but definitely an invite to a camp.

or he can go play at a lower level, and take the tougher road.

Without knowing the situation, he better tough it out and make the best of this opportunity or think long and hard before he gambles his future to satisfy his pride.
 

But What About Our Needs!

BUT WHAT ABOUT THE 180 PLUS POSTS AND 10,000 PLUS VIEWS here on Gopherhole? What about our needs Troy? Will we all have to go back to "Fire Brewster" and fantasy counter-posts of "all you Brewster backers'?

Is that what you want to condemn us to Troy? No, come back to the team sure we want that; but PLEASE continue the Facebook drama and keep us away from days and days of other internet goofiness.
 

Yeah he really has no other choice but to stay... if he's trying to go to another "top D-1" school, he'd have to sit out the rest of this year and all of next year. His hand may be forced to stay if the coaches will have him back

I hope he returns to the team and learns a valuable lesson. He seems to be a bit temperamental but if he can put this behind him, learn to better control his emotions and focus on football, I will welcome him back.
 




A high school classmate is flying into Austin, TX, if anyone wants to meet up.
 

Apparently somthing called Collingwood is going after something called a premiership tomorrow.
 




One of my buddies lost a Grateful Dead CD of mine.

But back on topic. That Brewster's one hell of a re-recruiter.
 

Sometimes twenty-year-olds don't think through situations all the way to the end. I'm glad he's going to stay if that's the case. It's not like he's never going to play any more.
 





A couple of family members just updated that they can't wait for the weekend.
 

Interesting post advice for today: You can always retake a class but you can NEVER RELIVE A PARTY!

Every April, these things called "Spring Break Photos" go up on facebook. You probably wouldn't like them anyway.
