The coaching staffs know each other pretty well.

In our favor, we should be ready to defend the RPO pretty well. Don't let Athan get any running lanes!

We may be catching Rutgers at an opportune time with defensive starters injured, Would like to see an old fashioned Taylor-Major grind them down game.

I do like a 6-3 record, and Bowl eligible. But as a greedy fan, I want more (Big Ten) victories.....

Of course you do. We all do. 6-3 looks pretty good right now especially considering the poor start but 6-6 won't look so good even with the poor start.

I expect the Gophers to crush them.

One could make an argument that this opponent might be our most expected power conference victory to date but all of our conference victories except Maryland have been by one score. If we can make it a two score margin I'll be happy enough.

IF.....we continue to play the way we have for the most part since the end of that Michigan game this one will not be close. If we don't help them I don't think they can beat us straight up right now.

Fleck does a good job getting his teams ready for road games and there is nothing about Rutgers home environment that should intimidate our guys after already making trips to the Big House, the Rose Bowl and Champaign.

I know Minnesotans get nervous anytime they feel confident about something but this is 100% a game we should win as long as we play up to our capabilities. I will be shocked if we play well and lose to Rutgers.

However, I will NOT be shocked if we do not play well and lose to Rutgers.

Rutgers is regarded as one of the bottom team in the Big Ten, but you don't want to go in there and take it for granted or look ahead to Penn St. and Wisconsin. I expect Rutgers to play their best and you know their coaches and QB will go all out to win if they can. I am sure they want it bad.

You are right -- we SHOULD win this game but we need to respect our opponent and know full well they can take us out if we don't play well. Looking forward to (hopefully) being 7-3 when it's all over tomorrow!

Feels like if we get off to a quick start we’ll coast the rest of the way, but start sluggish and we’ll have to grind out a close game.

A win clinches a big ten winning season.

It would be the 11th big ten winning season since 1970
It would be the 4th since 2019
It would be the 6th since 2014

We are fortunate to have had two really good coaches in the post Brewster era and one interim coach that did a heck of a job on the field for his year and a half

Winning big ten seasons by coach post warmath:
Stoll 1/7
Salem 0/5
Holtz 0/2
Gutekunst 2/6
Wacker 0/5
Mason 2/10
Brewster 0/3
Brewster/horton 0/1
Kill 1/4
Kill/claeys 0/1
Claeys 1/1
Fleck 3/7 with one season in progress

Nothing greedy about wanting to see the team have a good season. Now that we've hit bowl eligibility....we're jockeying for positioning. Two wins in these last three should help land us in the best bowl we've had since the top-10 2019 squad went to the Outback Bowl. But even one more win should help us land a decent bowl against a P5 opponent. Two would hopefully preclude us from playing in a baseball stadium (I hope).

The way they do bowls now I would be surprised if one win didn’t lock up music city or mayo bowl if the big ten ends up with 4 playoff teams.

Athan running isnt something I am concerned about. At all.

Feeling "greedy"? What fan base is not greedy? Plus, looking at our history over the last half century, we have largely been subsisting on starvation rations.

Defense has struggled against good RBs, so reason for concern with Monangai. But I still feel confident. Won without playing our best against Illinois, and the fact we have a bye should limit any PSU distraction.
