What do you guys think? It seems to me that PJ may tend to keep some of his key starters on the field a little longer than he needs. I am not complaining, we want to make sure we get a win, but would be nice to give some of the back ups a little more playing time? Maybe I missed the substitutions.
I saw Fermi-Cole was lined up in the backfield for a play, but then they called a TO. Sure wanted to see him get a couple of carries.
I bet if Seth would have kept the ball on any of those plays he would have broke open around the edge for a TD.

Staff was clued in that Kobe was at 96 yards, so they got him back in there to reward him and allow him to get over 100 yards.

Femi-Cole got the last 4 or 5 carries and ran hard. I want to see more of him.

No point to have Winfield in there when they did. You could argue the same for Rhoda...they wanted to work on the pass game a bit but a big risk given the QB situation now.

New systems, new coach. Reps are important at this point. More important than guarding against an injury (as long as it doesn't happen, then the second guessing starts).

I think we're still shaky enough that even the starters need reps.... more than we need to give backup guys reps.

If we were some rock solid team up and down the staring lineup it would be different.

At 10 minutes left, we had the ball near our own 40 first and 10. I was looking for Seth Green to get some playing time. If it was merely the hand offs to Kobe. It was an opportunity.

Femi-Cole got some touches I think. He is basically 4th string.

Rhoda needs as many reps as possible before Big Ten play starts.

Next year it might be different, but right now the starters are all still getting a feel for how our offense actually works and flows.

Green did get in. Handful of snaps, all hand offs to Femi-Cole

I disagree with the consensus here. The starting QB in the game to hand off to Kobe to run off tackle is hardly practice for later in the season. I know there's a benefit in keeping the offense "under wraps", but this QB and these receivers are almost rookies. They are absolutely rookies in the new schemes. I would have felt much better with the B1G season coming up if they had opened this up in the second half and gotten some "reps" that meant something.
