Some or all of these jottings may be highly inaccurate due to my ability to write & keep up with Sid & Dave. So read at your own imperil.

> Show opened with questions about what was learned in the B1G meetings. JK said said nothing really new. It is a great promo event, and Dave was right it signals the start of B1G Football.

> On no other B1G team playing TCU like team for openers, JK said it is good for the team as a whole, will learn what type of football team we have early. Great prep for rest of season.

> On why Gopher players are rated lower compared to other B1G players at the beginning of season. Same thing each year. JK said what is important is he is certain four/five players will get drafted. Being snubbed make the kids work and play harder.

> Sid: Offensive Line a big challenge. On when practice begins, JK said Friday August 7, but program (strength) will meet next Tuesday to get ready for practices and discuss OL.

> Camp will determine who the starting five are on OL. Jon Christenson up to full strength now which is good. Missed other stuff said.

> On Jim Harbaugh - Singled out JK at meeting, his dad & JK know each other for a long time. Harbaugh said they are both good football coaches. JK said that was a very nice compliment on his part.

> Sid reiterated JK is the best coach we've had in a long long time (Sid is truly a living historical legend). Better buy tickets now because the Gophers are going to be great (didn't quite catch what was said).

> Berkeley Edwards will be in the backfield this Fall, Important that he put on weightabout 195 lbs now (actually 210) with strength to compliment blazing speed. Will be in the backfield with Rodrick & Rodney, plus three very good freshmen. (It looks like third year is a charm for players to blossom & earn playing time in JK system if they buy in into the hard work).

> Dave: Gophers have about 14-15 commitments now, and how many are expected? JK said he can't comment about particulars, but said in the end there may be 22-24. Said recruiting going well with some surprises (Dredrick Snelson?). There are some high profile recruits (didn't specify if they are all who committed).

> Questions brought up again about replacing Maxx Williams & Rob (David Cobb). JK said he feels good about replacement prospects. Could never replace a Maxx, but expect to spread the ball around with talented players waiting in the wings. Feels good about the backfield. Rodrick Williams trimmed down twelve pounds. He pointed out the TD that he made against NE last year. He is a good back in waiting. JK said Rodney Smith is a good back that is not well known yet in the B1G. Replace Maxx with multiple players.

> Dave's questions about achieving a balanced class after five years. Is it getting harder for freshmen to play right away? There are 117-118 kids, but can only bring in 105 players into camp. It means that there are good players that won't make it to camp freshman year, unless injuries occurred. We are getting more depth. There are pretty good players that won't make it to camp. Decisions a lot tougher now. There is good quality team depth in just about every position now. Several young players will play on special teams.

> Questions about long snappers (Dave Ramlet graduated). JK said it is a concern, but like they did with Jared Hartman last year they'll get Payton Jordahl up to speed quickly. He can run and cover. Jared did a good job last year. He said there will be three long snappers in camp (didn't specify who the third one is).

> Sid: Do you think this is the best football team you've started the season with both at Northern Illinois and Minnesota? They have the ability to be. You won't know until they get out there and work. The depth question there's going to be to be people that step up like some red shirts... We've got some speed, we have do it on game day. JK thinks this is the best defense he's had since he's been here. Offense should improve. QBs worked hard. Mitch Leidner worked hard to improve. He attended Peyton Manning Camp which will help, and he worked hard on his own. (Adam Weber added as a graduate assistant should also help). It all starts up front protecting the QB.

> On preparations for TCU - The team will have to learn quickly. Will have to make tough decision early (on starting line up?) to get ready for TCU.

How many Murray's Steakhouse certificates has Sid given to Jerry Kill? I want some of those.

You are doing a great job but I am afraid that all The GopherHole can afford to give you is a discount coupon to Burger King.

Good stuff.....The time is drawing near and I'm ready to go!

Awesome stuff! Super thanks for the recap. I take them in any way shape or form.

Thank you, hungan. I am anxious or camp to start. TCU and Halloween loom as big games for us in addition to the usual Wisky, Neb, Iowee wee wee all the way home. I didn't even mention the B1G Championship game!

I think I read and heard Edwards is now 210. Coach Kill was happy he has added lean muscle mass.

Edwards was playing high school football for us last year.

I would love to see him play college football.

Edwards mild concussion in Lincoln probably woke him up the most. Dad sat him down and told him to bulk up or he would find out the hard way that guys in this league will take your head off
