1) Sid open the segment by saying that Maturi was recently at a women's hockey game and that he was most loyal to non-revenue sports: Maturi (laughing) "We all have different value systems. It's too bad people feel I don't care about the revenue sports." He said it's about perspective.
2) He's pleased with the outpouring of support throughout the nation that he's received since his retirement announcement. It's been a positive thing for my family . . . "It's been a good journey."
3) His decision to retire: "It's the right decision for Minnesota and my family." He's enroute to Florida to meet with donors that contribute Minnesota. He'll go to Arizona later in the week to meet with more donors.
4) Toughest part of being AD: It's the financing at the BCS levels: dollars for coaches and transportation costs for the teams and recruiting costs.
5) During the next five months he's looking forward to say his good-byes appropriately.
