Sources: Big Ten revote on when to start football season could take place Sunday - ESPN

Righties have been cheering for big10 to start on time or early. Lefties for big10 to start late or not at all. If you are the exception to this then my bad.

I think that's a hilariously broad generalization. I like football way more than politics. And Gopher football is my #1 sports passion. I understand why the Big Ten played it safe, but I don't agree with all the posters on here who are saying this is nothing more than the flu and already proclaiming that COVID has no long-term effects or serious health implications. There are some very extreme opinions on both sides of the issue (and generally those are the loudest voices). I am personally not scared by COVID, but I understand how my personal choices have the potential to effect others who are more at risk.

Bottom line, I just think all the people (Golden Rodents for example) making absolute statements like they have all the answers about COVID are ridiculous. The truth lies somewhere in the middle and it's hard for me not to react to the people riding the extremes

Thats complete BS. Biden was asked if he would follow advice of his medical experts recommendation if they said it was only way necessary to stop virus out of concern of our citizens' safety. I guess you are a member of ' Cult 45'.
I recall that answer and Joe swung and missed wildly with that response. Embarrassing. Scientists don't get to make those decisions, Joe. They get to give input, along with many other factors and variable information to be considered; elected officials make those decisions. Saying that you would punt that decision to some guys with labcoats was a big massive swing and miss, failure of leadership, and cowardly really, but not unexpected at all considering the source.

Not an overly broad generalization. Go back and look at the posts. This is all politics.

Yep, I'm one of those dangerous lefties and I was hoping like hell the season would start. Selfishly, I'm in my 70's and I don't have that many frick'n years left to watch my Gophers. But I'm also well aware of what experts are saying and I can read the statistics on the virus. So if people are making decisions based on medicine and science I'm willing to back them--not that arguing on a college fan site is going to have an effect on anything that's decided.

Much rather have officials basing their actions on what experts are saying than some buffoon in charge of the country deciding what people should do based on what he arrogantly thinks or what's best for him. The failure of leadership is that supposedly the most advanced nation on earth is circle jerking around while over 190,000 people have died--and, can't forget--all those athletes having their dreams shattered.
