Press release from U of MN:
NCAA Approves Waiver for Additional Year of Eligibility for Sophie Hart

MINNEAPOLIS - University of Minnesota women's basketball center Sophie Hart was granted an additional year of eligibility today by the NCAA. Hart is now eligible to play for the Gophers in the 2025-26 season.

Hart joined the Maroon and Gold during the spring of 2023 after playing parts of two seasons at NC State. Hart played in 20 games during the 2021-22 season at NC State and appeared in just five games for the Wolfpack during the first semester of the 2022-23 season before transferring to Minnesota.

The Farmington, Minn., native has started all 21 games this season for the Gophers and is averaging 8.2 points and 4.2 rebounds per game. She has played in 51 games for Minnesota and has scored 490 career points and grabbed 240 career rebounds.

"I'm grateful to the NCAA for approving a waiver for an additional year of eligibility, giving me the opportunity to continue my education and athletic collegiate career," said Hart. "I want to thank the Minnesota compliance office and the numerous staff from the athletic department that made this possible. I feel blessed to have the opportunity to represent my home state of Minnesota for another year and to continue my masters program. Go Gophers!"

Good news. Hopefully it doesn't discourage another big like Stewart from returning home in portal (whoever that might be)
