Somebody defend him

I think the recruiting has been above average but the use of said recruits has been awful. We have a consensus top ten TE prospect in Hageman not playing at DE and a highly rated QB prospect in Gray at WR plus Reeves playing behind in my eyes a below average LB in Rallis. I think its poor coaching ability is the reason for this which makes even great recruiting useless.

Never said recruiting wasn't important. I think Brewster and his staff have been highly overrated as recruiters. We should be seeing some on field successes by this year. I happen to like our coordinators, I hope Brew succeeds. I don't think the staff has recruited kids in this state very well. Check out Wisconsin's roster. If your fringe D1 talent you should be on Minnesota's recruit list. If your questionable D3 talent, should Minnesota be wasting time and money?

Sorry, nemo, but that was just tough to read. Recruiting isn't important? Okay, if you say so.

I re-read your post. I missed the "his" in your first sentence the first time I read it.

I think Brewster is only over rated because of people unrealistic expectations of what can be done. He has clearly improved the overall talent level. That doesn't mean it's at Ohio States level. it only means it went up from Purdue level to Wisconsin level. Now if we could only get Wisconsin level results.

The black and white mentality makes it darn near impossible to have a discussion about anything.

The guy said he hasn't seen enough to know yet that Brewster should be fired. You stuck a +1 on it.

I stuck a +1 on it because I agree that I'm not sure if I'm willing to go through another 3-5 year rebuilding process that would be the result of firing Brew.

not sure how fat slow lineman, small slow backs, and recivers who cant catch is justified as better talent....

What is that based on? What you want to be the case? Because it certainly doesn't show on the field. At all. Your perpetual blindness to the facts makes it pointless to discuss it.
