Some delicious facts regarding the big win over Wisconsin

Maybe you'll stumble upon a real coach one day, and figure out your identity as a program.

Hey, here's a thought: Barry Alvarez is still alive, yes? Ahhhhh, take me back to the good old days...

Glory days
Well, they'll pass you by,
Glory days
In the wink of a young girl's eye, glory days
Glory days
I’m willing to give Fickell another 2 years, not much one can do at this point. This OC hire will be interesting. And getting a QB that is at least mid tier B1G is paramount.
Myself, like most Wisconsin fans, consider Iowa to be our rival. But I really am a fan of Kirk Ferentz, I’ve always admired him both as a coach and a man. I absolutely cannot stand PJ, he’s obvIously a good coach, but to say I dislike the man is a huge understatement.

There was nothing more satisfying than watching badger collapses in the conference title game or in big bowls all of those years. To always be so close... And then choke. The ultimate blue balling. You were such a solid, put together team and you could never get over the top because you were never good enough. Always the bridesmaid, never the bride. We've been to the mountaintop, you haven't and you never will. And now you're losing regularly to PJ Fleck of all people! A person who most of your fanbase claims is a phony! That same phony has made your program look pretty silly, fella.

On 2019, it was the best ride in many of our lifetimes and you'll never get that feeling because you have no idea what it feels like to watch your team claw from the gutter for years to finally reach the upper crust. Most of us don't hold onto the Iowa and Wisconsin losses because of the Auburn finish, which was a far more significant game because it was the last game and it put an exclamation point on a season where we showed we could also take on a traditional SEC power and win when no one gave us a chance. You get to go home and likely not go bowling thanks in part to us😘
Going to those 6 B1G champ. games was such an awesome time! You guys will NEVER go to even 1 in your lifetimes. 2-4 is not great, but only 1 was a blowout. But, as a fan, they were very entertaining. But you guys got your win the Rose Bol finally this year! Congrats, did you go?

What helped me cope is knowing that the only time I needed to be in Wisconsin was when I was traveling to Chicago.

I usually just stop to pee.
I was born and raised in Chicago but love Wisconsin. Trout fishing in the Driftless Region is superb. I havent tried the Driftless in Iowa or Minny yet but need to.

Don't take this personally, but having a coach at Minnesota who is despised by Sconnie fans is a real bonus in Fleck's favor.

Oh I’m sure you guys love it, I have no doubt. I just have seen posts in here where your brethren have questioned why their beloved coach is so disliked. You’ll never hear Ferentz after winning vs Wisconsin, say things like “we played for each other, they were playing for streaks” or scream into the camera after a win. Ferentz is a man. I know I’m just an old ex military curmudgeon. Btw, can’t stand the T.E.A.M. Vest that Fick wears. It’s cringe.

PJ Fleck uses corny catchphrases and sprints down the sidelines between quarters. Ferentz looked the other way on his assistants making racist comments to players and protected himself and his shithead son. Ferentz applauded his fans who booed and mocked injured Penn State players.

It’s very telling of your character which of these you thinks is the detestable behavior.

Well, you’re getting a little personal there, tough guy. We don’t know each other. What you are bringing up about Ferentz are unsubstantiated rumors.

Maybe, but at best we can say Kirk has a real accountability issue. He also spent weeks complaining about the Cooper Dejean call last year. I’m glad our guy doesn’t do stuff like that.

A nice win for the Gophers and us fans. While 7-5 doesn't feel like we're Big Time again, drubbing UW feels good nonetheless.

I'm ex military too, and I am always amused by guys who bring up their service for no reason whatsoever. Like it gives you some extra special card to play. Maybe in your service days they would have taught you to have a little class. Apparently not. You must have been in the Air Force.

I thought it was just the WI players that were extremely soft yesterday but apparently it bleeds into their fan base, too.

Ha! I probably should have said ex-military in the 80s and 90s prior to the “woke era”. I have respect for every veteran, regardless of branch. So thank you for your service!
I met a retired Air Force colonel this summer that had over 150 sorties in Vietnam Nam and had been shot down twice. I don’t make fun of Air Force vets.
I was in the Navy.

Lighten up Francis. I was in during the same time period. And I make fun of the Air Force all the time. I have many good friends who are ex Air Force and they give it right back. I make fun of the Navy as well. But I mostly make fun of D-bag badger and hawkeye fans.

Dude is ingesting doses of copium by the bucketful, now using moral superiority🤣 go take a walk and call your grandkids, fella. You aren't gonna get what you need on this message board

How did you cope with losing EVERY DAMN AXE GAME from 2004 to 2017? Jeezus, today sucks big time! How did you cope? I need advice!! - Big Wisconsin fan in Indy
Just do like us Gopher fans, and think about all those national championships you've won over the years.

Bizarre that the Road Team has won 6 out of the 8 Wisc-Minn games in the Fleck era.
They players are all really motivated to chop down their opponents goal post.

Dude! You didn’t actually flex that, did you? All before WW2. No way you can seriously claim 1960 when Minnesota loses the Rose Bowl by 10 points. Come on, man. 🤣

Here's a fact, there were 2 Gopher Big 10 games this year that I felt extremely confident that that they were going to win.

First USC. Basically that one was just an epiphany fueled by crushing a 4pack of Kona Big Wave tall boys in the Bank parking lot while tailgating in the less than 2 hours before kickoff. Blind faith.

Second Wisconsin. This one stone sober. The Badgers have just looked terrible for a while now. I felt if the Gophers weren't still reeling from the Penn St heartbreaker in the early stages, they would take this one.

It would have been embarrassing to lose. Haven't thought that since stone washed jeans and zubaz were the rage.

Nice. You spent time looking up the details on all the Gopher national championships.

Advice Tip: To better cope with your miserable team and its continued slide into mediocrity, don't spend time looking up how much your rivals have dominated over the years. For example, in baseball, the BADgers have never beaten the Gophers this century. That's one you should just ignore.

The Auburn win was great, but honestly how was is more significant than the Wisconsin game? IMO that game was more important.

You do realize that PJ Fleck is 29-32 in the B1G, right? Is that even mediocre? Do you even realize the state of your own program?
