After next weeks win over the red rodents what bowl game will Minnesota get an invite from? Hopefully not another Bad Boy Mowers Bowl at yankee stadium. How about:
Pop Tarts Bowl-Orlando. Played at breakfast time?
Dukes Mayo Bowl- Charlotte- What’s the early spread?
Famous Idaho Potato Bowl- Boise Will Mr Potato Head be there?
On a serious note what realistic bowls might the gophers get an invite to?

?? Does College of Charleston (sc) even have football? University of Charleston (wv) is D2

5-7 was a really good bowl shot last week. Still a good shot but lower.m after some upsets this week.

They go bowling at 5-7 and it’s anyone’s guess.
They go bowling at 6-6 and it is probably anywhere except the two baseball stadiums

recruiting bowl. I assume this will allow the coaches to find a few more d4 transfers...

Winner of Minn/Wisc goes to Detroit. Neither have been there since 2018.

NMSU was just there last year, but I bet they'd still try to have it be Minn vs NMSU if at all possible.

Otherwise, if we back in at 5-7 it will be some bowl the Big Ten doesn't usually play in.

Hopefully no bowl this year and avoid another embarrassment. Use the time to recruit and reassess for next season.

I was curious what the results were after last week. Thank you for the update! 👍

Looks like minuscule to no shot. They don’t really deserve it after playing like garbage for the past month. If they can’t beat bad Big Ten teams how much hope can there be to beat Wisconsin or even a bowl eligible team from another conference?

With the new conference, it feels like the Gophers will never go to another bowl game ever again. 😭

Absolutely agree. No bowl, yes on more recruiting even though there is rule that shuts down recruiting during bowl season. Still could meet as a staff and get their shxx in order.

A bowl game adds 3 - 4 more weeks of practice, player development, and learning the schemes. The bowl game may not have the prestige you want but it matters to the coaching staff, players, and the teams future.

This would be an epic story line to spice up an otherwise ho hum game

There are 70 teams with 6+ wins
There are 82 spots.

2 of the teams in the 70 are not eligible but would go before 5-7 teams.

So even though they don’t have 70 bowl eligible teams there are 70 teams that would go before 5-7 Minnesota.

Minnesota is now the first team that would go at 5-7. Because all the teams with higher APR’s are eligible via 6+ wins.

So there are 12 spots left.
5-5 Navy - vs 9-2 SMU and vs 5-6 Army
5-6 Army - vs 5-5 navy
Assuming SMU beats navy, one of these two will go bowling and the other won’t. (Not sure how this works with the game a week late)

If there are 0 upsets (by record not spread…I didn’t check spread), The gophers will be out. If there is one upset in the gophers favor the gophers would be in.

Who cares what we as fans think about the bowl
It's a vacation and reward for the players. They put the hard work in we don't. Why piss and moan about it? Since when is beating Wisconsin not important? Beating the Skunks is always important no matter the year.

247 Sports projects the Gophers vs West Virginia in the Armed Forces Bowl (assuming a win on Saturday). (Dec 23 in Fort Worth, TX)

ESPN+ has MN vs Toledo in the Quick Lane Bowl. Tues Dec 26 in Detroit.

Fox Sports has MN vs Arkansas State in the Birmingham Bowl - Dec 23

Frisco is the stadium that hosts the FCS national title game.

NDSU or SDSU has been there every. single. year. since the 2011 season.

They would piss themselves to be able to claim that they played in Frisco at a later date than Minnesota.
