They are definitely not gopher fans to say the least. There were some good ones in there.

"Self-fulfilling prophecy...

put a piece of **** Minnesota team in the top 25 in order to justify keeping TCU and moving tOSU ahead of Baylor...

the Gophers have ZEROOOOOOOOOOOOOOO top 50 wins.... Their signature achievement for the year is a win vs. Iowa who lost to Iowa State.... the worst team in the Big XII."

Remember when Baylor ducked us on that return trip to Minneapolis post-9/11? Nothing's changed - they still refuse to play a halfway decent non-conference opponent.

Reading Baylor threads? And I thought i pissed away a lot of my free time.

They can talk all they want about how bad Minnesota is. But when your non-conference schedule is against teams that are a combined 10-20 in the Southland, MAC, and American Conference, you have no one else to blame but yourself.

I think they will pass TCU if Baylor dominates Kansas St. so I don't think it will really matter. I don't know why so many fans are getting so bent out of shape about these rankings right now. So much can and probably will change.

First of all, if it was BaylorFans, I'm sorry for the viruses your computer just got from all the pop-up ads.

Second of all, allow me to retort to Baylol using the words of Jim Rome:

This is the school who, this year IIRC, posted the absolute LOWEST overnight television ratings EVER in the history of televised college football against Iowa State.

This is the school who just DOWNSIZED their stadium.

Failor only won 16 conference games in their first 15 years in the Big 12, which they forced their way into by political pressure from then Governor Ann "Crypt Keeper" Richards.

Bailer is a school who is run by a guy who made his name from sniffing around the white stains on Monica Lewinsky's blue Gap dress.

Waco is a haven for basketball players who suckerpunch their girlfriends and get away with it, where basketball players are murderers harbored by the coach. and where football players pass out in the Taco Bell drive through high on weed

The women's basketball players have bigger packages than some of the men's team do (and punch competitors on the court).

They will never have what Minnesota has. National Championships - or even three conference wins even in a bad year. Their one shot at relevance, a BCS bowl last year, they crapped the bed against a directional Florida school.

From these pics you must be saying that Baylor has quite the Drama program. Not that there's anything wrong with that.

I don't think Baylor is anywhere near as good as the rest of the teams at the top. They have a bloated record and they got a lucky miracle win over TCU. They were badly outplayed in that game for most of the way. I think Oregon, Florida St or any team from the SEC would slaughter them.

If all of the main contenders win out, TCU and Baylor probably cancel each other out and neither will get in. The fourth team will probably be (ugh) Mississippi State, but probably should be Ohio State.

Can't see Ohio St and their name being picked over by any team in Mississippi and their lack of name. We'll see.

Why should it be Ohio State over Mississippi State? I understand the idea of wanting conference champions but if were talking about the 4 best teams making it MSU clearly has a better resume than tOSU and I would say are the better team. Now if they lose the Egg Bowl it's a whole other discussion.

That's Ohio State's golden chance. I didn't think they had a prayer a week ago, but if Miss St drops a game I think they get in. If Miss St wins out, I think OSU gets bumped.

Better resume based on beating 4 loss LSU, 4 loss Texas a&m and 3 loss auburn? They have no signature wins and aren't going to win their division, much less conference. The sec stumbling against the lower tier of their own conference is ringing the death bell for them getting 2 teams in.

Alabama, Oregon, fsu and either OSU Baylor or TCU are the teams as it is now. The cupcake no conference schedule will kill Miss St unless they demolish ole miss. And with the way it will all end, osu will have 13 wins, an early loss (the committee appears to be taking context into account this year with their ranking of osu and Oregon) and will have a more highly touted win over MSU than will miss st over ole miss (who will also have 3 losses given a miss st victory). I just can't see the committee rewarding a team that doesn't even win their own division the spot over a power 5 conference champ with an equivalent number of losses

A better resume based on their only loss being a close one to the current #1 team in the country while tOSU's was to an average at best Va Tech squad. I definitely wouldn't say that any of Ohio State's wins are any better than Mississippi State's (Edit: with the exception of the win over Michigan State). I think you are letting your SEC hate cloud your judgement. I'm by no means an SEC homer and do believe that the conference is a little overrated but all three of those 3-4 loss teams would probably look a lot better if they played in a down B1G this year.

I've heard these arguments before. O ya, every year on the basketball board when we try and defend why the Big Ten is the best basketball conference and try to defend why our conference champion goes 14-4 losses (see Indiana in 2012). And the conference hasn't even won a title in basketball in who knows how long!

It's funny hearing us argue the exact opposite on the football board.

I'm more or less just looking at the resumes as they stand now. OSU has the best win and will given that MSU wins out. If you asked me last week before all of Miss St's wins picked up another loss (A&M to Mizzou which is a really bad loss for the SEC as a whole b/c it puts Mizzou in the driver's seat for the SEC champiomnship, Auburn crushed by Georgia although a slight pass because of Gurley actually getting to play finally but that game was ugly, and LSU to previously winless Arkansas) and it really hurts Miss St's strength of wins given their OOC schedule. I agree those teams would probably do better in the B10 this year, but it's hard to say just based on the different styles that are played so it's a tough comparison to make. Just with the way it likely will play out, I'd see OSU jumping Miss St after the conference championship week unless they play us again and don't look impressive in winning. That and it's looking like the selection committee is forgiving with OSU's loss based on the context and they don't seem to be as enamored with the SEC as much as ESPN is at times.

Would OSU beat Miss St on a neutral field? I don't really know. I feel like each team has one last shot to prove itself (OSU in the conference championship and Miss St vs Ole Miss) and if one of them makes a much bigger statement they'll get in. I'm just trying to look at this in the way the selection committee will in that Miss St will not have the chance to win their division, much less their conference and it will reduce the number of games they get to play. Now they're getting lucky in that Baylor and TCU also won't get an extra game because the B12 was foolish and removed the conference championship. So right now I'm thinking that it comes down to OSU vs Miss St in that OSU has the extra game vs a (likely) ranked team while Miss St will sit idle. It's just really hard for me personally to gauge how good the SEC is this year. In the past they've been hands down the best conference and have proven it in marquee games OOC. This year the teams that everyone was thinking we're going to be contenders have absolutely floundered and now it looks like the conference is deep, but doesn't have any truly "great" teams.

All in all I personally would take OSU over Miss St as it stands right now. If Miss St demolishes Ole Miss, I'll definitely reconsider. But I fully expect Miss St to be ranked higher than OSU (given they both win obviously) until the conference championship week. But regardless what happens, I'm thinking the selection committee is going to tick off one set of fans no matter what.

If tOSU played Mississippi State on a neutral field tomorrow, I will take Ohio State. The earlier argument about quality of loss is a little ridiculous IMO. tOSU is a different team than the one that lost to Virginia Tech. Barrett has improved by leaps and bounds. In addition, Alabama is not the Alabama of a few years ago. There is no one dominant team or teams this year.

I wouldn't be so sure that tOSU will jump MSU but I certainly think it's a good possibility. You're also assuming Bama beats Auburn, which I think they definitely can lose that game. While I agree that Ohio State might jump Mississippi State into the playoffs I wouldn't say that they should (or that they shouldn't, both teams have good arguments).

BTW, the Big XII didn't decide to drop the title game, they don't have enough conference members to have one.
