You are confused. The NCAA is not a "league" per se. The BCS would be more analogous to a "league". Though it only exists to select teams for its bowl games.

No, the NCAA is a league, certainly more so than the BCS. It's not in any way analogous to having the Saint Paul Saints play in the World Series. The Saint Paul Saints do not play in the same division as the major league teams. If anything, it's analogous to the Twins playing in and winning the 1985 World Series.

If we were to have a playoff as suggested, you either put ALL the FBS schools on the same level, or you make D-1 football a three-level sport, instead of the two we have now. Unless you're going to put C-USA, the MAC, and the Sun Belt etc. in the tournament, as is done with basketball, you're still not solving the problem. These schools more or less have nothing to play for.

That's not what I'm saying. Although I might be tempted to say it if a third of the the Saint's season was played against MLB teams, and in every instance, the Saints kicked the other team's a$$.

The BCS is a joke, and reality is I do not care who gets to play in the title game. This game is not a real title game. Football needs a playoff system just like baseball, basketball, hockey etc. I will not watch this game until it is a real championship!
