Many years ago, when there were still twelve rounds in the NFL draft, I heard some commentator say that, in the last round, with your final pick, select someone big and unusual. What that really means, in essence, is to take someone with peculiar potential to round out your roster. Someone not safe. Someone nobody else wants. I always secretly loved that Dick Bennett found some fucker named Duany Duany, and it turned out, in the end, he could play.
