Silence from Hawkins and Christie is deafening!

CBJ needs to get to work anyhow, but if those two are not coming back, we will be in trouble trouble
Christie coming back would be a huge boost for next year and give us a really solid core to add around.

Parker coming back would be great from the standpoint that it is hard to find guys who play with the motor and passion he does. His production wouldn't be all that hard to replace but the intangibles he brings to the court would be very difficult to find.

If Parker comes back- he will be the front runner for B1G 6th man of the year.

Sorry to be cynical, but he could also end up being an undersized 5 if we don’t pick up a big who can play capable starting minutes. I wonder if he’s waiting to see if that happens before he starts the process of petitioning for another year.

Not cynical, just a fact. Ben needs two portal post players whether Fox returns or does not.

He seems to love the U and the team. I think it comes down to what he wants to do and his knees. I suspect he either isn't coming back or already started the process for the waiver and isn't going to announce anything until it's approved.

My gut tells me that if he wasn't coming back we know it by now, but there is also plenty of evidence indicating that my gut can't be trusted

Under normal circumstances, I'd agree. But he did walk on Senior Day and he's not currently eligible without a medical waiver. There's not really anything to announce if he's moving on. But it's weird times.

Being honored on senior day suggests he already announced he was gone. Only an announcement saying waiver approved and he is choosing to return. I’m risk averse and would not assume return unless he says it.

If I calculate correctly, he’s had at least seven straight years of post high school education. The argument of wanting to be done with that is compelling.

Another year of going to college and playing basketball vs. starting your career

For me, it'd be a no-brainer. He'll have many many years to work ahead of him.

Though he walked on senior day, when asked the question directly about possibility of coming back, he hedged. Said he didn't know if the knees could take it another year and also mentioned he had been going to classes a very long time and maybe a change would be good.

I view those as honest observations from a guy who still had some thoughts about more basketball. If he had 100% decided to end it by senior day he could have just flat out said so.

Is that like double trouble? Or even worse?
And why did he wait until now to tell CBJ it's time to get to work? How will we ever land anyone if no one tells the coach he needs to work at it?

Not to mention I had a person in Aberdeen tell me he made 50k 2 years ago in NIL before DTA. Can imagine he's making more now.

Coyle needs to poach Northern's NIL person. Or hire Parker for the job if he got that himself.

Not just that, but Fox seems very active on social media and he has to know people are wondering what he is going to do. If he was for sure not coming back it would be very likely he would just say it and put it all to rest.

The fact that he hasn't tells me that he is at the very least considering playing one more year. In my opinion if he has any desire to play he should.

Fair assessment. The drama around college basketball is not his doing, despite his being in the middle of our scene.
