per Sid's jottings:

• Pro Football Focus named Gophers wideout Rashod Bateman one of the three best receivers in college football: “He possesses great route-running ability, he wins at a high rate in contested-catch situations and he is electric with the ball in his hands.”

Go Gophers!!

How many coaches could make Bateman and Morgan what they are today? The fact we see player development so evident across the board is truly amazing. I don't think I have seen a program where player development is so transparent (Would love to see this in M. Basketball and M. Hockey (starting to see)).

I would like to piggy back on this and include life development or leadership development. These kids are turning into productive people also, not just someone that can run fast or lifts more weights than Nebraska.

If this all pans out the way I think and hope it will, we will be hearing about Gopher football grads doing wonderful things in the NFL, the business world, the nonprofit sector as well the government. Fleck will be widely respected

I agree. Just go and watch a Gopher Football practice (if permitted). You can see how far the program has gone compared to the first season.

They are well organized, efficient, busy, and up tempo.

Lots of positive encouragement and teaching moments. Players seem to enjoy practices.

Solid coaching is evident everywhere.

Bateman is the face of the program.

PJ Fleck is an astute recruiter. He developed a trusting relationship with him and his family long before his recruitment exploded.

In a way, the biggest recruiters for Gopher Football are the parents of the recruits now that they are beginning to see that PJ Fleck is for real.

A lot. Both Rashod and Tanner clearly have an internal fire to be great. I love our current coaching staff and direction too but a lot of their success has come from bringing in guys with the attitude to succeed in any situation.
