Some may blame him for all the defections in the conference (and the attempted Boise/San Diego St. move to the Big East), but the majority of it likely comes from walking away from ESPN to form their own tv network many years ago. This was before BTN even launched. Bold move, but a total disaster. Probably part of the reason BYU is an independent. Now they're back with ESPN with Boise getting preferential treatment.

48, just to settle the bet. But you are correct, I grew up reading and listening to Sid. If you got up in the middle of the night and stole the tuning knob of my parents' kitchen radio, nobody would have noticed. It was always on 8 3 0. So, I was probably listened to Sid hours after conception.
