Remarkable man, who lived a remarkable life. Happy birthday, Sid.
 

He is officially 100 today! Love him, dislike him, he clearly is a legend in his own right. People can't wait to see his articles or hear him on the radio the best he can due to his age and health.

Happy Birthday Sid. The only thing I remember reading in the paper as a kid are Sid's column and the comics with Sid coming first

In many ways he was very responsible for moving MN football to the Hump.
It was said he had a conflict of interest in owning land very near to where the stadium was built.

Dude, the man is turning 100 years old, has been a local institution and a huge supporter of the University of Minnesota when there were not a lot of those to be found in the local media.

He had his flaws but now would not be the time to attempt to drag his name through the mud. Considering the source, not surprised to see you as one of the lone negative voices in the thread.
 


Happy Birthday Sid.......you have been a part of my life for the past 66 years.
 

Who knew the butter knife steak was the key to a life long lived?

My father did not like Sid's style or takes, but he still read his column and tuned in to 'CCO every Sunday morning.

Not everyday we know someone turning 100. This guy is in spotlight almost every day of his life and that folks is not easy. He isn't a yes man, he will speak his mind and yes he will do things that we don't like. Many people supported the dome when it was happening. It was the new thing. Many of the same people figured out later, perhaps it wasn't a good idea. It ran its course and know we have a great stadium in TCF.

To the negative people who clearly either are jealous or unhappy that you can't allow a guy to enjoy his birthday, particularly at 100 years, you need help.

Wonder what he did for his birthday. I'm thinking some peaceful time with some close friends and family. Couldn't be much due to the current health scare.

Well said. Amazing there are people so spiteful that they need to come onto an internet message board to bash on someone who just turned 100 years old! To be as active as Sid still is at 100 is amazing.

Thankfully that group is a pretty small one but gives you a pretty good idea of someone's character when they are willing to be negative about someone on their 100th birthday.
