Sid Hartman Q&A with Tubby: Coach sees hope in a dismal season

Watching the Wolves game last night they commented about Derrick Williams and what it will take for him to take the next steps. Adelman said: consistency. This was an issue with the Gophers all year - getting a consistent level of performance out of certain players. Knowing what to expect from who. Havign a go to guy. For this year- they are young (some of them). Next year it has to happen.

I am most concerned about the "insurance big man" comment. The last thing this program needs is to recruit yet another "insurance" player as you could make the case that 4-5 guys on the current roster were recruited as "insurance". This team needs needs an elite go to player, failing that it needs a true point guard, failing that it needs a true PF, failing that it needs an offensively skilled wing. There is no room on the roster for any more "insurance", we need "impact".

I would say Mav and Latham are insurance players, but completely agree with the rest of post. Even my patience is running out, time to win.
