Sid: Andre McDonald no longer in school; could go to JUCO

Go...to...class. It really isn't that hard if you don't have to work a part time job, pay your rent, buy and cook your own meals, and commute every day on transit. And have a free 24/7 tutor.

Seriously, this kid isn't playing football. School isn't that hard without a job. Put the reefer down and do your homework kid.

Playing football and going to school is 10 times more demanding compared to going to school and working 25 hours at Pizza Hut. It's obvious you have never worked around a college athletic program or played a college sport. Drives me nuts how people think these guys just go to class and then have a 2 hour practice and that's all they do in a day.

yeah, that. who knows what else is going on in another persons life. Assuming the kid and Kill get along -The kid is lucky to have Kill as a mentor/coach cuz he will probably always have someone to lean on.

Umm. Excuse me? Andre McDonald isn't on the team right now. What exactly is he doing related to football.

He's not playing football right now. Exactly no one has said that playing football and going to school is easy. It is damn easy to go to class and do well in school when you have no other responsibilities, which is exactly what Furry said.

Excuse what? You claimed school isn't that hard without a job and then called him a pot head in not so many words. The kid has problems that you and I will never understand. People are pissed off about Jerry getting called terrible things but our fans will rip a kid and accuse him of smoking reefer just because school and football didn't work out. It's disgusting

The reefer comment pissed me off and I probably over reacted my bad

WHAT?? No way did you just put epilepsy and a pot addiction on the same level.

Dude, what are you talking about? Jerry Kill's problems are 100% involuntary. To equate the two in any way is what's disgusting. Andre McDonald might have some type of mental/emotional problems he's struggling with, but I'm pretty sure that there aren't any conditions out there that make you involuntary smoke weed. You can say "accuse", but it's not exactly a big secret. The Royce White defense (blame being a jackass pothead on some "medical condition") isn't going to fly with McDonald either.

No I didnt...I poorly attempted the comparison of how easy we defend our coach but rarely defend players that have obvious issues. McDonald May or May not have a disorder of some type, he has issues that go deep due to a tough childhood. Epilepsy is terrible and Jerry kill deserves credit for his battle, but mental illness(which may or may not be affecting McDonald) is also extremely difficult to deal with. Especially when you're 18/19 yrs old. Andre not going to class and doing the wrong things could be a much deeper issue.

The kid obviously has issues. We have no idea what the root of those issues are and Andre is definitely not the only kid who struggles to go to class despite it being his only responsibility. College students drop out all the time. I suggest people back off a little and just hope the kid turns things around.

I'd bet at least half the team smokes pot. McDonald has bigger issues then pot

He doesn't have a job. He got kicked off the team. All he had to do this semester was go to class. He didn't have practice to attend. He didn't have games. He didn't have film sessions. He's not on the team!

Well that's what happens sometimes when the star stays home (they fizzle out like many other players). Just like what probably would have happened with Murtha, Mobley, WLA...

We've seen the end of McDonald. He may resurface, but it won't be here...

Just curious, how do you know he doesn't have a job? If you've read his back story, he doesn't exactly come from money...

Ten times, huh? I think you just managed to insult a lot of people that managed to put themselves through school and actually take classes that didn't start with "Introduction to".

Probably equal to those athletes that u just insulted...

So Andre just threw away a full athletic scholarship?

Just thinking about the financial implications of that alone = DAMN. That's a shame to toss aside such opportunity and gift as that, and I cannot see how he won't eventually come to massively regret this.

It's not that hard even without all of those advantages... I just don't get it.

Really, 10 times?

Every case is different, a lot of athletes take the easy way out but same goes for the non athletic student body. Some student athletes go the extra mile just like the students not playing sports.

I do believe that playing a sport is usually much more difficult than just going to school and having a job, 10 times is probably an exaggeration. Didn't think anyone would take that so literal.

And athletes only take intros...really? Obviously I know you're being a smart ass

10 times? How about "as".

10 times? How about "as".

10 times seems way out of line but unless Pizza Hut employees are suddenly getting a lot of hamstring pulls, concussions, knee injuries and broken bones "as" might by just as unreasonable.

Unless there has been a rash of "crawling into the oven" incidents that haven't come to light.
