SI: Breakdancing Moves One Step Closer to Inclusion at Paris 2024 Olympics

Breakdancing and three other sports have made the next move toward becoming medal events at the 2024 Paris Olympics.

The International Olympic Committee’s executive board on Wednesday recommended adding breakdancing, skateboarding, sport climbing, and surfing to the Paris program when the full membership meets in June.

A final decision must be made by the board in December 2020 after further monitoring of the four.

More inclusive to more people, and provides more (and potentially more entertaining) content for TV, with the summer olympics being the second most valuable TV sports event in the world behind only the super bowl.

Seems like a win for everyone. Except perhaps the host city, that will have to build even more new, expensive facilities.

Maybe the thing I was thinking of was just the American TV audience. That would make way more sense.

Nonetheless, I'm sure it's a fairly valuable TV sporting event worldwide, and this just provides more content for that, with some of those being potentially fairly entertaining. Sports climbing, think about Free Solo that just came out. Skateboard, X-games. Not as sure about surfing and breakdancing ... maybe?

Maybe they should really get with the times and replace all CIS gendered male events with trans gendered events?! After all, those pesky Alpha events like Greco Roman wrestling, only serve to promote the scourge of "toxic masculinity!"
