Maybe not, but I would buy a Tshirt of the Referees carrying the Little Brown jug for Michigan and Not offsides. Maybe it's too butthurt like Iowa not a fair catch one's. I would buy it, if the shirt were for NIL. We should fundraise off this for NIL. Not an offside beer in a brown jug can or ref shirt and yellow flag. Just say'n

Minnesota has a cosmopolitan culture, the highest median household income in the Midwest, and is ranked 4th nationally in educational attainment by US News.

Large numbers of people wearing t shirts protesting a loss in a football game come from states that have little else going for them.

The call in the Iowa game was a bigger deal because it eliminated a game winner (though I think it was correct). The call in the Michigan game was hugely important, but there’s no guarantee we would’ve won.

So I’d vote no.

You must love the commercials the U produce which highlight the academic achievements of the faculty🥸 vs. showing what a fun learning environment it is for the actual consumer - the 18 year old student

An alternate timeline would have us get the onsides kick, advance to decent field goal range, and then fumble, miss the kick, have it blocked, and so on. Same outcome just a different path.

Sometimes a season is just snakebit. Still way early and beating the next opponent (whether flukey or not) would go a long way.

There is no guarantee Iowa would’ve won even if they scored a touchdown.
Still time left on the clock

The call in the Iowa game also didn’t end the game

Whereas the call in the Michigan game ended the game.

The call in the Iowa game was correct. While this call was more questionable

Thank you. This is the correct answer. I have attended Iowa-Minnesota games and, well... no thanks. Let's just say that what I witnessed was not the type of behavior I would aspire to.

To avoid stress, anger, disappointment...Minnesota fans shouldn't base their enjoyment on wins & losses.

We will NEVER have a successful program. We will NEVER contend for anything. Our administration doesn't want us to be successful...and this is a FACT. Not opinion.

Oh, you mean it wouldn't occur to you to rush the field and tear down a goal post on the opponent's home field after a win? Me either.

The consumer, from a P&L perspective, is a grad student more than a high school kid. This is even more true at Minnesota which is a big urban school with a higher % of post-grad enrollment.

Grad students generally pay more tuition and are more profitable for universities. They receive less need-based aid and subsidies.

They are also the main growth channel. Graduate student enrollment nationwide has been on the steady upswing for decades while undergrad has declined slightly.

Fair enough and thank you, as I may have learned something new today, but those commercials still suck In my opinion, as someone who spent time selling advertising.

Do you have actual numbers to support your hypothesis?

Number of Grad Students vs undergrad and avg. income derived from each?

Not saying you’re incorrect, but i like hard data or links, to ensure I’m getting a ratio take😉

You have to admit...anything's better than watching a low-budget minor-league team called the Gophers embarrass us constantly. At least call them something else. Don't associate them with my University.
