I always have family stuff on Black Friday, so I’ll likely never be able to go to the game again unless it’s a night game at home. I’m willing to bet I’m not the only one with that problem.

So the thing I like about Thursday and Friday games is that, assuming we win, I'm in a great effing mood to watch football all weekend. So knowing that we likely are going undefeated next year, I'd prefer they are early games so I can be in that mood for the rest of the league.

Hmmm......when we're playing at Wisconsin......yes. No to when the game is at home.

I like that even when the two teams have middling records, that it ends up on one of the networks. Better chance of that on BF.

I love that this game had all college football eyes on it today. If I'm sitting st home, I love it. But it's tough for travel.

We left mid-afternoon on Thursday to get here. Not optimal for a holiday. A 2:30 kickoff would be okay, so we could leave early Friday. Also, attendance at Camp Randall was not great today ... tough even for those in town.

Great for TV. Not great for in-person attendance. TV will always win.

Absolutely great idea.
National TV every year.

Do we have a say in the matter?

Can't say I like the idea. I know there are a couple games that have taken their place on Thanksgiving and Black Friday like the Egg Bowl and Nebraska Vs. Iowa, but I've enjoyed the Axe game being on the full rivalry Saturday lineup more.

It just feels like the game is more intwined with the rest of the pageantry with the rest of the Saturday, which is a treat. I think back to 2021 when FOX had the double header of Michigan Vs. Ohio State and then the Axe game.

Michigan won first and they rushed the Big House field and then we won at home and rushed the field with the Jump Around moment. The rivalry weekend energy just feels more palpable on the Saturday and I like the Gophers being part of it. I say let other games have the teaser slots on Thursday and Friday.

Heck no. Really F’s with Thanksgiving plans. Tolerable for a road game, a big no-no if it was a home game.

Unless it a night a night game I say no. Half of my season tix group worked today. Also you should know this time at the beginning of the year. There are too many things going on.
A night game would really suck.

- Colder
- Tough to tailgate when it's pitch black

Not as much of a concern, but a night game would also normally go head-to-head with 6A Prep Bowl, maybe they would flip to Saturday though.

It’s fine if you never go to the game
Actually messed it up for several people I know who would have been watching on TV.

Lots of people have to work that normally would have Saturday off.

It really needs to be a 2:30 kickoff either way. It’s a game that begs to end in the dark.

I channel being a banana slug the day after Thanksgiving so it's mainly a no for me. Watched the game today which was fine but going to TCF would be just a little more challenging until I digest a little more of the turkey I consumed on Thursday.

No way! If that was a home game today, the student section would have been empty (worse than the student section at Madison today!). Kids go home for Thanksgiving...they don't want to turn around and go back for a football game the next day. Dumb.

Friendly reminder that Black Friday is not a holiday. The banks and the financial markets are open, and many people would need to take off work.

If it's tradition that the area plans around, like it is in Nebraska (or Minnesota's Thursday before Labor Day opener), then it works. It's not tradition at Minnesota, so play the final game on Saturday.

I don't know if we should play Wisconsin on Black Friday or not.

But here's my thought: as long as Fickell is coach, the Gophers should play Wisconsin EVERY WEEK!

Better than the Thursday night opener slot. Love it, make it a tradition!
