Happy birthday: Jim Dutcher, who coached the Gophers to the 1982 Big Ten men’s basketball championship and resides in Edina, turned 85 last week.
“(Former Gophers-Lakers coach) Johnny Kundla set a tough bar for me — he lived to 101,” Dutcher said. “I feel great; I’ve been blessed with some pretty good health. You’ve just got to be lucky.”
