The Local Sports Media is going to have a fit if they fire Poor Ben and hire anyone but Johnny Tauer or Ryan Saunders. I'm not even sure Medved has enough "One of Us!" cred....

Tauer is a perfect fit for Saint Thomas . . . a former player, a professor, grew up within blocks of the school. He has a safe gig at a program on the way up. He wins. And Saint Thomas will be ecstatic if it makes March Madness every 6 years. If the U of M parts ways with Johnson, they need someone who is going to inject substantial energy into the program and give it some national buzz. They also need someone in the program who can raise a lot of money in NIL. The fundraising for NIL is the most important job on the campus if the U wants to play in the upper level of the Big 10 in basketball and football.
