Is the "U" that hard up? They had Maturi flying commercial to San Diego as of three weeks ago... I would say YES.

Does that mean hard up or have its priorities straight? Depends on who you ask now. Maybe both. Back to a booster plane.. also keep in mind, said booster would own the plane, not likely be on it. Boosters who own planes typically have mini empires they are managing and would not fly out unless its to pick up the new coach (a perk offered by Maturi as a thank you?). They are kinda busy..

Booster "A" owns the private jet... Mona or Maturi is calling him directly to ask for permission to use... Booster "A" then just says yes, and hangs up the phone? He/she = curious as to where they're going, is the $$ I am about to spend worth it for who they are going to talk to, etc.

This search would be a different story if we had a T. Boone Pickens or Ralph Engelstad to sell our souls to. They'd get us a Patterson, Harbaugh, or Mullen and fund the program at an elite level, but it would cost Bruininks, Maturi, and Dean Johnson their souls. It would cost unlimited access at Bierman, in the locker rooms, and the freedom to hire and fire at the highest levels.

Denny is quirky, but seems like he can be controlled. Maybe he'd become a T. Boone or Ralph if we gave him the perks of being the unofficial AD and required Maturi to report to him.

I 100% believe that maturi and Mona did this on purpose. Mona and Tofoya work at CCO together and he knows where Tofoya is going to be for MNF, can easily get her flight info. they knew she would report this on her show on Tuesday. This is just part of any smoke screen Maturi and mona have set up. I am willing to bet that they spoke with multiple agents in SD. Just because the Brewster hire didnt work out doesnt mean Maturi is a stupid man. I guess I like how frustrated the media is getting with no real info being provided by the U. This is how us regular folk feel like on a daily basis listening and reading the local media in this market.
