Any idea how these rate with other B10 staffs, Bleed?

That might be the lowest paid group of assistants in the conference. I won't object to that level of pay for them, yet it makes me wonder why it is so low. In this day and age, that is shockingly inexpensive. I would expect that coaches be compensated better than the players. It makes the U look cheap and small.

Eh, I don't think Thorson has any grounds to complain after his performance last season. Also probably a pay raise for all 3 since the other two came here

The only way you can defend that position is if the players of Ben Johnson actually had untapped stellar abilities. I watched the games. The group underperformed on some games by sheer unwillingness to perform. I think it related to the old adage, "They pretend to pay me. I pretend to work."

A quick google search gives:

“Big Ten assistant basketball coach salaries vary, with some earning significantly more than others. While exact figures for all positions may not be publicly available, some examples of salaries are:
  • UConn's top 3 men's basketball assistant coaches (Young, Murray, and Moore) each earn $400,000 per year as a base salary .

  • Assistant head coaches in the Big Ten can earn around $250,000 per year.
“……

So it looks like the salaries are on the high side.

Contrary to popular belief ….

It makes the Gopher look “Very Competitive

But don’t let that stop the you guys from trashing the program based upon unsubstantiated guesses.

This only strengthens spottedmuskies point.

Spaulding, do you have a point here or is everything a reference to someone else's POV? If spottedmuskie wants to make a point to me, fine. Otherwise, be direct. Tell me what you think. Represent yourself. That would be exciting. I hate tracing breadcrumbs to another place and time.

Almost all professional coaches make less than the players so this is pretty common in the sports world.

I only show these two because I want to show how Coyle failed to align pay for performance. How did Johnson command a salary above a better coach, like Fleck?

And that’s why spaulding is on the ignore list. Never offers anything of value to GH

Super.

The U is paying its MBB assistants on par with a top tier program like Wisconsin's. How is that cheap and small?

P.S. Fleck made 6.7 million in 2024.

He didn't. Your data is garbage. As Milos noted, Fleck makes over $6 million/year to Ben's $2.
