I've already said this once, but I'll say it again. I sent that rant because i was trying to elicit a response from Maturi to see if he would hint one way or another on if the rumor was true. I am and will always be a Gopher football fan, no matter how much it pains me at times.

If you're bailing because we hired Kill you were never a fan in the first place... Quit being such a dramatic teenager and remember that part of supporting our beloved gophers is learning to live with disappointment. Also please remove the sand from between your legs.

I thoroughly agree. It sounds like Maturi tried to woo bigger name coaches, and they didn't want to come here. Not exactly Maturi's fault (at least in this specific instance). I think that is likely a reality of the state of Gopher football. And I think Kill will work out to be a pretty good hire, too.

We may not have an elite football program, but we are pretty much a top ten institution in the nation with one of the largest groups of students and alumni. The investment to get the football program inline with the rest of the school should be non-stop. Until the reputation of the football school becomes commensurate with the rest of the school, the reputation of the rest of the school is being eroded by the reputation of the football program. I think I might send this to Maturi.
