They are doing it tomorrow instead of against Indiana (assuming since speeches work much better on Saturday afternoon versus at 10:15 Wednesday night).

Anyways the four dudes walking/being honored tomorrow: Fox, Ramberg, Wilson, Purcell

Hopefully this doesn't preclude Parker coming back for another season, guys have done it twice before.

No Dawson has to be taken as a good sign!

Ihnen was also a possibility, but isn't doing so.

Guessing Purcell is graduating in 3 years and will try to transfer down somewhere to actually play (or get on with his life).

I think Ramberg has another season of eligibility if he wants it?

Last year it was an unwelcome surprise when it was announced both Battle and Cooper were doing it.

I think Fox has to do it in the case that the NCAA, for whatever reason, denies his medical waiver for next year. You'd hate to never have the experience, assuming you were going to cleared.

Does he even need a waiver for another season? For some reason I thought that was confirmed already...

The guys on sleeper media said that Trilly Donovan was saying Dawsons made it known he’s open for bidding for next year.

I have not seen an actual tweet tho from a Trilly so no clue where they got it from. And also no clue how he’d be eligible

“Pay me or play me” 🤓

He'd be eligible because it would be his 5th year and 2020 didn't count due to COVID. Doesn't sound like the one time transfer rule will hold up in court. It's basically free agency every year.

I can’t believe Battle was honored last year. I had forgotten that. Pretty sleazy, because at the time he was going to “test the pro market”

Grad transfer?

It’s interesting that people make this out as in Player’s best interests. The long term reality is that has never born out.

The great example is Marvin Miller in MLB (because the parallels are so easy to see).

He deliberately invented the system where players stick for 6 years. He played it as if it was bad, and a hard fought concession. He pretended that freedom every year was desirable.

The reality is Miller wanted the 6 years. He wanted A trickle of free agents instead of a flood. This was to introduce false scarcity into the market. Thus, instead of prices keeping pace with inflation and crawling up, they go up exponentially every season.

Need a few more scholarship spots open. 2 guys committed, need to bring in a few more transfers. Bigs and need shooting!!!!

IMO Garcia not participating can only be considered a positive development. At the very worst we have the opportunity to pay him enough to stick around.

It’d be kind of a downer if he was part of it, much more frontal.
Agreed 100%. Hopefully we get a chance to counter-offer before he accepts something else.

I’m sure Gophers can support Garcia, Christie and even Payne in NIL next year after seeing the potential this year.

If this season is it for Fox that was a heck of a senior night send-off and he played another great game.

I would love to see him come back again for another year but that looks like it might not be in the cards.
If he wants to try and play internationally, he probably needs to get hoofing as well.

Yeah surprised to hear that but I heard on the radio (And maybe it was on TV broadcast) that Ben had mentioned Parker was damn near committed to moving on after this year. I'll hold out hope.

Always have loved Senior Day but a lot different feeling than it used to be. Was thinking how emotional it was when players you had watched grow and compete for several years were honored. Sort of felt like you were seeing a relative leave when guys like Jordan Murphy, Andre Hollins, Dusty Rychart, Quincy Lewis, etc. came forward. Not these guys' fault with the current landscape, but we're in the process of losing something that made college basketball so enjoyable.

Also confusing the issue is that half the seniors can still play another year.

Is this the last group of players that get the COVID year?

There will still be a few players who fit that mold - maybe Payne and Carrington on this years team, possible JOJ, but his body language the past few games tells me he is going to leave after this year.
