Senior Bowl Games

KJ Maye got a good few minutes of talk by the commentators. Mentioned that he has been undervalued.

Murray has made a few good tackles....including one behind the line on a screen pass to Maye. Also held his ground and stuck a receiver from the south on 3rd and 4 to force a kick.

Soon the NFL will throw away from EM31 like every college team did. Then, every novice fan will say he isn't special because they didn't hear his name mentioned during the game (BB).

Has anyone ever said this? Your never ceasing man-love is notable and admirable, but the debate has been whether he's a first round type talent. I can't recall a single person ever saying he's a mediocre player. Keep the straw-men coming.

That wasn't the debate, and yes it was said.

Both guys did some good things today. The announcers were high on both of them as well. As long as Maye has a solid workout, I think he will get drafted. A year ago I didn't think that was close to being a possibility.

This is the point where you ask for evidence. You are big on semantics, so lets have it.

The debate was EM31 2015 vs EM31 2014. A certain poster and I got pretty heated in that argument and on numerous occasions he eluded to EM31 being pretty average in 2015. IMO, we both got too heated in said argument and there were many many posts deleted by the moderators. Due to that deletion you will have to take the above as proof - it is all we have. Thanks for playing.

It's weigh in day at the senior bowl. Maye came in at 5'8 1/3, 184lbs. Murray 5'10 1/2, 198 lbs. Not great news for either of them.

The NFL is hung up on measureables. They're looking for players that fit certain molds - and lately, the trend has been toward taller DB's to battle the big wide receivers. As far as Maye, if you're not big, you had better be really fast.

Of course, they have never come up with a way to measure heart, desire, football IQ, leadership, and all the intangibles that makes one guy a bust and the other guy into a solid contributor.

I still think Maye can and will be a productive pro - but he's going to have to land with the right club and the right system.

It's true that taller dbs is a trend, but many top corners are under 6 feet. His 40 will probably be more important.

Eric Murray was being talked about as a 4th rounder (#129 ranked player) prior to Senior Bowl week, however given his performance not only in the game but in the week leading up to it (which is equally scrutinized), I'll be shocked if he's on the board that long, and if he is, he'll be one heck of a steal for some highly fortunate team.

If he were a stock, I'd be buying heavily right now, as all indicators are trending strongly up.

One commentator said that 'Eric Murray made a lot of money in the week leading up to the game'. He went on to say that the difference between being picked in the second round vs fourth will all come down to his times at the combine.
