Isn't that something? SEC with 9 and Arkansas isn't one of them. (Obviously a lot can change and am going to guess they are right on the cusp, or should I say bubble?)
 


Mississippi has to be one of the more interesting teams. Despite being 10-0, they are ranked below us on both Pomeroy and Sports Reference Ratings Systems. Their strength of schedule is not as bad as ours but, without knowing more, they appear to play to the level of their competition. They beat Memphis, NC State (by 20), and UCF but they beat lowly Detroit Mercy by 1 point, Sam Houston by 3, and Temple by 1 point.
 

I believe all 3 P12 schools projected in are future B12, so that would bring their total to 11 (as of next year).
 




It will be interesting to see how the mid major leagues play out. There could potentially be a lot of bid thieves, which would essentially lower the number of at-large spots.

Teams like JMU, Princeton, Dayton, St Joe's, Indiana State, Grand Canyon those MWC schools and potentially Drake have put themselves in a decent position to get at-larges with great conference play. If those schools can get through their leaves with just a couple losses, all could be in position entering conference tournament play.

Of course Drake probably on the outside looking in if Indiana State is as good as advertised. Mid majors are exciting, but just don’t get the at large respect in recent years I feel.

I don't think that's just a recent phenomena but Drake and Loyola did get in from the Mo Valley in 2021.

Getting beat by them is the equivalent of getting beat by a Texas / Baylor (some team that will finish 2nd or 3rd behind Kansas most likely in the B12). San Fran is a power program we were told.
 

I am very curious what in Texas resume would garner inclusion. I realize they are expected to be good and that 9-9 in the B12 ought to get them in, but their non-con performance lacks heft.
