Does Bryant Allen's appearance on the basketball team (and upcoming meaningful minutes) have any weight on SH's decision. I know he likes basketball, and I haven't heard of any of his other choices allowing him to walk on. Does this weigh his decision in the U of M's favor in anyway?

My guess is no.

First, Bryant Allen hasn't logged a serious minute and we don't know if he ever will.

Secondly, SH knows football is his meal ticket. Sure, he loves basketball - but its been made very clear to him where his future is.

If I had to guess, I'd say the disappointing season (thus far) by the basketball team has made Minnesota look a little less "sexy."

Did you watch the Ohio St game last Sunday? Which squad impressed you more?

Yeah, but that means he couldn't play for Ohio State even if Tressel would let him. If he wanted to do both he would have gone to Iowa. He would be starting for both teams down there. Well, the basketball team at least.

Bryant Allen is going to be getting a lot more clock.
Source: Tubby Smith on his WCCO radio show. He said he love's Bryant's game, and now that all starting positions are up for grabs, Bryant is really fired up.

If he's serious about wanting to play BB, Minnesota is the perfect place to play with Tubby Smith as coach, he can teach SH how to be a better BB player and improve his footwork (which I've heard is horrible) and that will translate into making him a much better football player too. And to have someone 6'8 330 setting picks and screens makes the team alot better too, when he sets a pick, it's set, nobody (other then Shaq maybe) will run through one of Seantrels picks. It's like running into a brick wall. And work on his quickness too, then he might be able to help the BB team. And his best chance of playing BB is at the U of M. If some coaches from other schools (like Ohio State) say that he has a chance to play there, then they are lying to him. The best place for him to play both is Minnesota.

If SH can get up and down the floor for a 4 minute stretch, there's playing time for him.

Wouldn't that be something?

Seantrel takes out Jordan Taylor with hard pick - maybe even a little elbow (or any other small little BigTen guard). That would be a freight train I would love to see!
