SB Nation has the Gophers in the Gator Bowl against Georgia

Here's a scenario I haven't seen anybody bring up yet.

Did anyone look at the stands last week in Ann Arbor? Michigan fans toot their own horn how great they are and how they would travel so well, but there was A LOT of red in those stands on Saturday. It's clear the fans there have given up on their season. People here in Minnesota are thrilled with the season this year, and it has been ages since we've have a Florida bowl game. There are many Minnesota retirees down there that probably haven't seen their team play in a decade or more that would surely buy tickets. And that doesn't even include the Kill story that would draw plenty of attention. I'm not sold that Michigan would bring that many fans down there after losing 5 of their last 7.

per ESPN:

We think the Buffalo Wild Wings Bowl would still like to reunite Nebraska with an old Big 12 foe. And when it comes down to it, the Gator won't be able to say no to the Michigan brand. So that leaves Minnesota back in Texas, a fate the Gophers could have avoided had they won at least one of their final two games.

Our final bowl projections of the regular season:

Go Gophers!!

What happens if tOSU loses to MSU?

MSU -> Rose Bowl, tOSU likely gets an at-large BCS bowl. They'd be well within the top 14 and have one of the biggest fan followings in the country.

And since the Orange Bowl gets the 1st At-Large pick (replacing FSU), the Buckeyes would go to Florida for the first time in a long time.

Anyone esle notice, he has Syracuse in the Little Caesars bowl. that can't happen, since the Sun belt get to sent a team their, due to no big ten team going their.

houw about we play Oklahoma State - Kill versus Gundy - who he coached in high school.. how about the sub plot and media hype on that game!!

Anyone esle notice, he has Syracuse in the Little Caesars bowl. that can't happen, since the Sun belt get to sent a team their, due to no big ten team going their.

Apparently, the Sun Belt does not have the secondary tie-in with Detroit this year. Sun Belt commissioner Karl Benson only said that the conference would be lobbying for the opening in Detroit, along with the other potential at-large openings around the country:

“For those of you that follow the bowl landscape and the number of at-large teams versus the number of open spots, there are potentially 13 bowl eligible teams that will be in the at-large field, headed up by Notre Dame along with 12 other at-large teams including at least four from the Sun Belt, if not five should South Alabama win on Saturday.
“We are going to be surrounded by competition for the open slots. We also know that the potential openings remain in Birmingham to St. Pete to Dallas to Detroit to New York to Shreveport, we are in a conversation with all of those bowls.
“We know that two are open as of today – the Little Caesars in Detroit is open due to Big Ten not satisfying their obligation, and the Pinstripe Bowl in New York City that the Big XII will not fill. Those are two that we know for sure today that will be open.
“There’s also a possibility with the Independence and Heart of Dallas.”

My guess is the Sun Belt lost its chance at a third bowl team (Western Kentucky) when UL-Lafayette accepted the New Orleans Bowl invite over an offer from the Independence Bowl. Of the remaining possible open slots, the MAC has agreements with the Poinsettia and Beef O'Brady's, and the rest - Pinstripe, Independence, Little Caesars, Heart of Dallas - should go to BCS conference teams and Notre Dame.

3-5/7-5 Michigan won't travel to a minor Bowl game; especially after Hoke ' s bone head call. Sports Fan 1 you are delusional if you think Michigan will bring a big crowd to Jacksonville. It's beneath the arrogant Michigan fans.
