Say something nice about Nebraska(?).............................

Interstate 80 is in good shape between here and points west.

Johnny's Cafe in Omaha is a great steak house.

The Sidetrack Band will be playing somewhere in the Twin Cities this weekend. You should check them out.

You know it. I said in a previous post I'd champion this idea and probably did so more than needed. Long story short, Nebraska fans have developed a great culture of being kind to visiting fans. I know a lot of people of this board think that is because they own us but that simply is not true. They do it all the time with other teams, good and bad. I've attended the College World Series many times and the local fans go out of their way to make nice with visitors. I realize people who have not been to Lincoln or Omaha will conjure up all sorts of reasons for not buying it but ask anyone who has been there and most will tell you the same thing I'm saying. Penn State fans are good that way too but Nebraska fans bring it to a whole different level.

Go Gophers!
Cheers! :)

Go to a Missouri Board and ask them about that.

Nebraska fans are great to opposing fans. Even scumbag fanbases like KSU & CU fans (by far the worst 2 fanbases to Nebraska fans) who would most likely have the worst time if anyone was gonna have a bad time.

But as others were alluding too, maybe its because teams dont beat Nebraska at home. Since the 70s CU, MU, KU, ISU, and KSU only have 6 combined wins (CU with 3) in Lincoln.

Overall, that's probably true. However, after losing to NE 24 consecutive times Missouri beat them in 2003. Then the Tigers did it 3 more times in the next 4 years. My buddy was down there for 2002, '04, '06 and '08. Sat on the 40 yard line too. His cousin has been getting tickets for years.

In 2002 the Cornhusker fans were, as you stated, very nice. '04, '06 and '08? Even though they won 2 out of 3 of those games the very idea that Missouri had dared kick their ass a few times got to the Husker fans.

He said the change in attitude was pretty stunning. "Scumbag" fan bases certainly could have applied a large contingent of Husker fans in '06 and '08 at least.

Don't worry though, our resident Nebraska troll has assured us for years that once they get rid of Callahan and Cosgrove it will be nothing but rose petals and National Championships for years down in Lincoln.... :cool03:

The Runza's they sell in their stadium make great hand warmers.

311 is from Omaha. You may remember them from the '90's.

Godfathers Pizza, and the "Penis" in the prairie. The "penis" in the prairie statement comes from a life long Lincoln resident that I worked with. She referred to Nebraska's capital as...

And who could forget Mutual of Omaha's Wild Kingdom I wonder what Jim's policy cost?...

No, Nebraska fans are very nice to opposing fans. Its not some rumor even when they were losing. There is good natured ribbing but that about i. Even to Texas fans. I didnt call Mizzous fanbase scumbags, i called CU & KSUs fanbases scumbags. CU is notoriously bad. KSU is just horrible (at least to Nebraska). Mizzou and Nebraska was starting to get chippy and turn into a nice rivalry, but not at the games. Its just hwo it is. I almost wish our fans weren't that nice, but it is what it is. I dont know what the last part means.

My buddy I know, you I don't. I'll go with him.

Cool. Still doesnt make it true. Ask any Big 12 fanbase.

Understood and I did, and the Missouri fans had no problem talking about the change in attitude back then. Otherwise, yeah, the Husker fans have a very well deserved reputation for civility.

Couldnt be bitter Mizzou fans at all.

2004 - Nebraska sucked, every Nebraska fan knew this, still beat them no reason to be negative even after a loss

2006 - This was fairly even game going in, but Nebraska came out on top. Nebraska - Missouri rivalry was basically just starting over, no reason for it to be that heated

2008 - If there was one game where id believe you it would be this one. But the year before Nebraska sucked.

2010 - Nebraska dominated them and it felt great.

Again Nebraska fans are fine. Maybe your buddy had a bad experience. But by and large its perfectly fine for opposing fans. This includes Texas fans who got under Nebraska fans skins alot worse and Beat Nebraska at home in 1998, 2002, 2006, and 2010. On the internet, Nebraska and Mizzou fans arent friends. But in real life its a totally different experience.

The rivalry definitely heated up when KSU, MU, and CU actually beat Nebraska. But that didnt affect the treatment at games. If you want to argue that point, thats totally true. Nebraska didnt care about those team before they beat Nebraska. We also have an arrogant fanbase that can be dismissive to teams. But the games are different. people are treated fine

OK, I'll go first!. I did go to a really good steakhouse in Omaha once. The women are not the prettiest in the nation, that's for sure!! Go Gophers!!!:clap::pig::pig::cool::cool::eek::eek:
"Omaha" is also a 1968 recording by Moby Grape.

-Dorothy Lynch Salad dressing is great.

-Omaha makes Council Bluffs look like $%&^

Children of the Corn takes place there. /Malachi

Just like Iowa, only thing I got is, I have relatives from there.... can't hate them so, ya know..

1. Yanney Heritage Park in Kearney is an unbelievable park. Check it out if you get the chance,
2. Fonner Park in Grand Island, NE - if you like betting thoroughbreds,
3. College World Series, and
4. Cabela's Corporate Headquarters in Sidney

All fun places to visit

No because I hit a deer trying to drive through Nebraska

If they didn't grow so dang much corn I don't think I would have wrecked my car there. Tow truck charged me $180 bucks too, a total Class A rip off. I have seen deer everywhere else but never came close to hitting one although a deer ran in to my beater mobile station wagon when I was 18 and driving to Grand Casino Mill Lacs for the first time. Deer walks up to my car as I'm stopped at a stop sign, bumps its head in to the passenger side fender, then takes off running, just glad all it did was that dent the fender.
So no Nebraska get's nothing nice from me, forever that place will suck.

Please don't try to apply logic. Fan bases are seldom logical.

Fonner Park is a sh@t hole. I have been to 10-12 tracks around the country and in the UK and there are none worse than FP. I won $ on my only trip there, but found it amazing the track was still open. NE isn't a half bad state, but Fonner Park (and Grand Island in general) doesn't make the list as to why.

Well then here are some responses from Missouri fans when asked about the Cornhuskers rep for being so wonderful.

-they like to tell everyone they are the classiest fans in cfb but they aren't any better or worse than most...I have been to 3 football games there and didn't have any issues except an occasional drunk 20 yr old

- They have DBag fans just like any other fanbase.

- They are no better and no worse than any other fan base. But if you tell them that, they claim it blasphemy.

Go ahead and beat the tar out of them for us.

- Yup. Came back after the game and someone took a dump in my grill and keyed my truck. Overall they were good peeps just caught a bad batch. I mean who takes a dump in someone's grill?
