WR from Holy Angels was offered a spot as a preferred walk on. 6-4 220 pounds, has anyone seen this kid play? Could he develop into a TE?

Damn. For a second I thought we had a new commit and this was an anagram.

Just curious, what exactly is a prefferred walk-on? And does that mean they are with the team?

From what I've heard, they are guaranteed a roster spot. I don't know if they have a better chance for a future scholarship or not.

Preferred walkons actually get coaching time. The other walkons do not; at least under Mason anyway.

At many programs preferred walk-on is simply a walk on but they call it preferred now to I believe make the players feel like they are more special. At the end of the day they are still a walk-on and have the same ability to try and earn a scholarship as anyone else and are still treated like a walk on.

This guy looks like he might develop into a good situation type player. I'm thinking as a goal line possession receiver. He has good size and it looks like he has good hands as well.

He has really good hands on a good frame. Looks like he could be a pretty good TE.

Thats a big kid. He absolutely dwarfed some of those DB's.

Wow, get this kid on board! Smooth runner, catches with his hands, good size.

Either put more pounds on the kid or get him into a speed program.

on a related note, chaska WR Derrick Engel, who MN wanted to walk on, has decided to play for winona state.

Johnny What kind of player is Derrick? haven't seen him play but gald winona could get a player that the gophers atleast thought had some potential to help them
