Sometimes you have to win ugly. I will take winning ugly versus losing beautifully any day of the week haters and non-believers.

Ski-U-Mah!

I think Leidner played a good game too. Yes he missed some throws badly, but he made some really good ones too. He made enough big plays through the air and on the ground, and he didn't turn it over.

It's never easy being a Gopher fan. This was a HUGE win! Way to go guys.

Agree. Nice to see Limegrover put a couple of wrinkles in the playcalling to help him out a bit. Some good downfield throws out of play-action.

I agree as well. He completed passes to 6 different receivers and made some big throws when we really needed them. I have been encouraged by his play.

I don't think Thompson played well overall but he sure made an incredible play at the end. That's what leaders do.

Cobb continues to be a beast. I'm a little worried about the amount of carries he is getting but I don't blame the coaches for riding him. He seems to get better as the game goes on. His conditioning appears to be excellent.

That TD pass to Maye was a thing of beauty. Probably the best pass I've seen Leidner make all year.

A win is a win, especially in this wild wild west. Time to celebrate!!!

Strange feeling winning the close ones. Go Gophers!

I've never been one to watch special teams play but kill has said from day 1 s.t. will win or loose you quite a few games... Last 2 weeks has proven this...

The good thing about getting our butts kicked a lil bit today, is that it keeps
us humble going into an away game. Any given Saturday, playing at someone
else's house, can be a loss, anytime, anywhere. Getting raked a lil keeps these
boys on the edge. Blowing out Purdue could've been a bad thing for next week,
with or without Lunt throwing against us.

Going to preface this by saying I was at the game and didn't exactly watch the secondary with laser focus, but Thompson did have two huge INTs today. Both were absolutely crucial: one to get off on the right foot and one to close the game. Did he get burned a few times throughout the game?

He did get burned on one of the touchdown passes, he bit on the run and receiver was wide open.

On Purdue's first TD I thought he wasn't running as hard as he could until the receiver got in front of him. I think that if he had ran hard to the ball from the beginning he could have kept that to a 10 yard gainer instead of a TD. He also had a few missed tackles as well.

Obviously it wasn't a terrible game for him. I just thought he made a few more mistakes than we are used to with him.

That TD pass to Maye might have been the best ball I've seen a gopher QB throw since Kill took the job. Right in stride and perfectly placed.

If Santoso would have lowered his shoulder on the extra point fake he would have scored there too.

Not sure about the clanger off the upright but how about that run by Santoso? I'm not sure it's such a good idea for a 6'6" guy to run so erect up the middle but it sure was fun to watch ;-) He made it all good with the 52-yarder!

Ced's pick also made his performance a good one.

Cobb, well, he's just a beast and perhaps our most beautiful SOB ;-)

I agree about your worry on Cobb, and also agree we need to ride him in close games. I'm hoping next week we can get a little breathing room and get some work by Kirkwood, Williams and even Edwards in the second half of the game. I want Cobb really fresh after the bye week for the last 4 big games!

Damn straight. They don't see the field a whole lot.......but they've won us the game.......two weeks in a row.

He is overworked, but the bye week is well timed this year. I'm sure he'll be 100% for Iowa and Ohio State, but he could be banged up pretty good after OSU if we ride him for 35 carries each game.
