I kinda think that might be Scott Frost's issue with getting along with his players.

He's the math teacher who is good at math and doesn't understand why the other students don't just ... do the thing.

I deal with this every day at work.

You hit on a really important thing - sometimes the best performers or most knowledgeable are horrible teachers. You need an intermediary to teach the plebes in a way they can understand.

Here in CA the standard common core math curriculum and worksheets (for grade schoolers at least) were designed by professional degreed mathematicians and it shows. Absolutely horrendous. Kids seem to be perplexed and needlessly confused...

When I was a college physics tutor years ago I ran into similar issues - discovered I was a poor teacher ?‍. People are simply wired to learn in different ways...educators that can overcome that are worth their weight in gold.

Could very well be true ... but then how did he succeed before? I guess just different situations.
