Unfortunately, he'll work well in their offense. He is a talented guy. He was a good passer in a pro style offense at NC State, so i'm sure he'll be a good pocket passer for Becky. He also has some athleticism that seems to play pretty well in Becky's offense.

I know there are some slight changes but I expect the offense to look similar to Brooks Bollinger but so far Wilson has been a better pocket passer than Bollinger. So if it fires on all cylinders, it could be pretty scary.

The only concern about Wilson, and it's probably minimal, is that maybe it could cause some tension amongst the team.
 


I'm sure he'll be fine but it will be interesting to see how Chryst tweaks the offense. The Badgers Oline is all over 6'5 and both tackles are 6'7, so his vision could be obstructed a bit. I don't think it's going to be a very big issue though... maybe early on, but by the Nebraska game they'll know what they need to do to accommodate his lack of height, if anything at all.
 

Enough is enough on Gary Coleman. He's going to sconnie because can't hit a curve ball and he has mastered the simple handoff.

I know nothing of Wilson, but if he's a better passing version of Bollinger, that offense is going to be very potent (as if it weren't going to be potent enough). Tolzien was a solid, "no mistakes," game-managing QB, but I wouldn't call him a true playmaker. If Wilson makes more plays than Tolzien, that could make them a "lights out" team on the offensive side of the ball.
 

Chryst does not ask much of their QB except manage the game and don't turn the ball over. Wilson has the makeup to be a decent QB for them because he does not have to be a gun slinger but rather hand the ball off and much of the passing game comes out of play action. My only concern is how much can he learn in 15 practices with learning a new playbook, a new language and the potential of problems in the locker room with someone new coming in.

I can easily see Wisconsin winning the other division; but I would like to see how Ohio State handles the off the field issues and if they sneak their way on the field.
 

I think we're all way too worked up over a player that will only be around for one season. The BADgers are going all in, and if they don't win the National Title, it should be deemed a failed experiment. It's the college equivalent of the Vikings getting Favre. He'll probably do pretty well this year...let's just hope it pisses off some of the other players on the team that expected an opportunity and messes with their chemistry. Another thing to consider is that, when playing Wisconsin, often it's their running game that leads them to victory. Maybe the presence of an accomplished passer gets them off their gameplan. By the time Kill gets this program in a position to compete for some real honors, this kid will be nothing but a distant memory. Think about the 2012 Wisconsin team, and ask yourself if they would be better off having a inexperienced/untested QB or some guy who played through some struggles in 2011 and had a real chance to learn.
 

Guys...nobody wants the Badgers to beat the gophers less than me but some of you are reaching on your comments.

Height? Tyler Donovan the Badgers starting QB in 2007 was listed at 6'0 but was closer to 5'10...he did well enough in that offense as a first year starter for them to make a bowl game. True, he had been on the team the previous 4 years but he had nowhere near the experience, background nor ability as Wilson. In fact none of the badgers QB's the last 10-15 years....maybe ever, has.
 



The height issue is definitely a concern with the size of the Oline, but if Wilson didn't transfer UW would still be playing with a 6' QB in Jon Budmayr.

GH, if you had seen our spring game, you would realize that "some struggles" is a vast understatement. I didn't see a QB on the field during the spring game that could be helped with "a real chance to learn." You can say all a Badger QB has to do is hand off the ball, but eventually you DO have to pass or at least make people think you can. There is supposedly some QB in the pipeline for 2012, so the Wilson transfer looks like it could work out well for both sides.
