Gary Russell and Laurence Maroney have each scored the first TOUCHDOWN in the last two Super Bowls. I am not sure, but I can not imagine another college program making the same claim. In fact, I wonder the last time a school had alums score TDs in consecurtive Super Bowls at any time during the game.

Go Gophers!

Russell is kind of a forgotten player. It's too bad he couldn't keep his business in order - he would have been fun to watch for two more years.

As far as players from the same school scoring any touchdown in the Super Bowl, Michigan State had it happen in Super Bowl XLI and XLII with Muhsin Muhammad and Plaxico Burress (though they weren't the first touchdowns in the game.

Thank god GopherInWI retains as much meaningless trivia as I do!

At least it was another Big Ten duo!

Meaningless sports trivia is my thing, that's how I've stuck around in sports media like I have...that and I love sports :-D
