Since it won't a playoff game, will it still be played on new years day in its traditional time slot? Would hate to see it as a night game the day before.

Rose Bowl will always be New Year's Day in the same time slot unless on a Sunday (NFL). That was part of the agreement with New Year's 6.

Please tell me you're not insinuating a trip to the Rose Bowl next year for the Gophers.

You think there's a lot of us in Florida. We'd bring 25,000 to Pasadena. Count on it. And btw, sent that ticket count for the Citrus to the Outback Bowl, who chumped us twice. Those pos.

The playoff semifinals will be played on Dec. 31 the next two seasons.

I was wondering what would happen in 2016 when Dec. 31 is a Saturday and it's usually the weekend the NFL playoffs start. Maybe that will be week 17?

Us being in the Rose Bowl means that the Big Ten was left out of the CFP.

So I'd prefer we were in the playoff over the Rose Bowl next year.

But the Rose Bowl would be a nice consolation prize.

So if the Big Ten champ goes to the playoffs, does the Big Ten give up their spot in the Rose Bowl or could the 2nd best team still go?

That damn committee!

Good question, and my guess is that the tie in would be broken and the committee would be free to pick anyone. Could be Big Ten, or could be anyone else. That's just my guess.
