Rittenberg: Top 5 Recruiters in the Big Ten

It was interesting to see Rittenberg's list of top 5 recruiters and the fact that no gopher coaches were on it.

All of those teams recruit better than the Gophers, so there's not much of a surprise there IMO.

We have yet to out recruit any of the teams on the list (except maybe MSU with the '08 class?). Doesn't mean that Brewster and his staff haven't done a great job in improving the talent.

I think you really have to look at who has out recruited their percieved school position. Does it really say anything when OSU achieves the best recruiting class about the ability of the recruiter. For this I look at the Minnesota and Illinois programs. maybe the Mich state program as well. Both Minnesota and Illinois are recruiting about three spots ahead of traditional levels.
