I like the idea of a Shrine of sort for some of these announcers somewhere on campus. However through politics I'm afraid that those who aren't deserving would get on it.

Never heard him in person; just on TV.

He was amazing. His voice was perfect for the Barn for whatever reason.

Late to this tribute, but i have to note that there are very very few people of whom you can say that you were blessed to hear them on AM radio - because everything about them just works there. Vin Scully was one. Ray was another. RIP.
