Riley Moss returning to Iowa

Also somewhat interesting, they have only had 5 enter the portal and haven't added any from the portal.

the other db Koerner opted for draft earlier this week...the RB Goodson also opted for draft before bowl game...the center Linderbaum seems like a lock to opt for draft...the good WR Tracy transferred to Purdue...the QB buried in depth chart, Hogan, went to portal...would like to see one of the lbs, Campbell or Belton, opt out...VanValkenburg, the good DE is done...the kicker Shudak is done

Unfortunately Iowa is loaded at all of those positions except QB—they have and will continue to have problems with their QB’s—not very good at all!

He’s been a Gopher killer since his freshman year. Rats!

Yeah, Riley probably received info that he wasn't going to get drafted all that high, so he came back to enjoy another year of college football. He was at the Senior Bowl, so he had first hand feedback. This is great news for the Hawkeyes.

Koerner was a senior, he only bypassed a possible 6th year. Linderbaum is probably gone, and should go. Most projections have him middle of the first round.

The whole situation with Tracy went off the rails. Its probably best for him to leave Iowa, and Purdue will probably turn him into an excellent WR. I'm rooting for him to kick ass next year, except against Iowa.

Belton and Campbell are question marks. I'm worried Belton will go.

Enjoy the offseason, see you all in August.

I'm surprised he wouldn't be a higher draft pick. Wonder what his combine numbers will look like?

Yet Iowa seems to churn out new nasty Hogeyes year after year. How annoying, PJ Fleck is 0-5. Come on! Let's Row The Boat through the pigsty.

How bad is Linderbaum’s injury? Might affect if he goes or not

The Iowa WR so called "room" has been strange for a few years. They had two way above Iowa standard talents in Smith-Marsette and Brandon Smith in the last few years, with the previously mentioned Tyrone Tracy and Ragaini being solid as well. All contributed to beating Minnesota frequently.

Suddenly, this year, they stopped using Tracy and Ragaini, but then had two big time freshman playing this year, one Arland Bruce 4, being the son of a former Gopher and the other Keagan Johnson.

Being an Iowa football fan has to be very frustrating. At least PFJ has not hired one of his relatives yet to be OC. Since 2002 Ferenz has not had a QB as good as Brad Banks. The QB they settled on this year set them back and cost them more than one game. That guy, #7 sucks, if he had played the whole Floyd game, we would have won.

You mean Iowa hasn’t had a QB as an individual who finished second in the Heisman like Banks? Odd.
There’s a large gap in between. The current twosome of Petras and Padilla is terrible. Prior to the current couple, the lineup was Stanley and Beathard prior. Each would’ve won Iowa the bowl game to win 11 games.

"Belton has been a breakout star for the Hawkeyes this season as he held down the CASH spot. The Tampa native had 46 tackles, including three for loss, 12 pass deflections and a tied a Big Ten lead with five interceptions."

Fleck hasn't hired a relative as OC. It was worse than that. He hired an incompetent.

I see that Iowa’s All Big Ten tight end is also returning. Trying to improve his projected 2nd. round draft status. Why can’t the Gophers get that lucky and have grisly veterans return? Another year with PJ could improve their draft status.

Gophers will be grizzled and veteran.

Tanner, Mo, CAB, JMS, (maybe Ruschmeyer?) all back for year six. Michigan transfer Filiaga year 6. Geary may be back for year 7.

BSF, Rush, SoriMarin, Aune, T Smith, Howden, Chris Smith from Harvard, Bryce W, Karter Shaw, Boe, Jelen, Trickett all in year 5.
Clemson guy Jefferies, Vandy guy Surgers, WKU guy Beanie all year 5 dudes.

Year 4 includes Kramer, Potts, Wright, MBS, Guedet, Kallerup, Cooper, Jay's kid, Carter, Richter, LeCaptain, Oliver, Willis, ACU guy Stapp, Sol Brown, Nubin, Weeks.

That's 38 fourth, fifth, and six year guys with very good shot to be in two-deep rotation or contributing from three-deep/special teams.

10 third year guys will be pushing to play on defense: Dixon, Glaze, Joyner, Striggow, Logan-Redding, Lindenberg, Finnessy, Keys, Fleming, Pless.

At least 5 third year guys will start/push to start on offense: Jackson, Ersery, Lewis, Lawrence, Emilien.

Crawford, Kesich will be in third year at P/K.

There is a very good core of 55 upper classmen to build around...Walley, Irving young, but tested.

Not real good news with all of these Iowa guys coming back. So far they only lose 4 of their starters from last years team—but their quarterback still sucks—thankfully

With Kirk at the helm, we would've won last year. While 2019's team had NFL talent, Kirk's offenses averaged almost 10 points more per game. Add a touchdown to the Iowa game and we win... Hopefully we can get back to close to 30 points a game with Kirk

They were an overrated 10-2

Not sure it needs a new thread, but I got an alert from the Athletic that Linderbaum is entering the NFL Draft.
